Happy Anniversary! (and a return)

A hiatus most needed.

Sometimes we need to fall off the face of the Earth, Sky, and all the realms lol πŸ˜†

Storming in South Florida

It’s been storming here the last few days (and not metaphorically, I am pretty calm, actually), with quite a bit of flooding, so there is that, as well.

I did mention I possibly was taking a break (a bit of a delayed response on my part -something that sometimes gets me in trouble) and for sure…it was long overdue.

It was meant to only be a bit of time, and ended up longer than.

Sometimes we need that, to put things into perspective and realize what is most important of all.

Lots of flooding and rain the last few days

And not to allow ourselves to be distracted by things that are insignificant, and to listen to what those who really matter to us are actually telling us.

To allow ourselves to know deep what is in our head, heart, and spirit.

And especially for our sanity.

Clouds among palm trees 🌴

I spent some time writing and simultaneously not thinking of writing at all.

Still not 100% if the creative batteries are recharged yet or not, but I’m gonna just write when I feel like it and we’ll see what comes about.

I’m also going to take the pressure off of myself to write – as I think we all should do.

Releasing those expectations.

And in an ironic twist of not blogging for 5 dayish, apparently it’s been 3 years! But I only got serious about blogging in December β€˜23/January β€˜24

Hope you’ve all been well, and it might take me some time to get caught up with posts, likes, comments, and follows – so please just bear with me. You are very much appreciated, as always.

Love to you all. Hope you’re ready for a great weekend, especially since yours truly will be working.

Oh, let the chaos begin.

  1. The return of Qesor! Glad you got some time to yourself. And strangely enough, I too also started my WordPress three years ago – well, it would have been the summer of 2020. Oh wow. Was it four years ago? It’s happening again. Time. Time is happening. 😬

    • Haha!! Thank you 😊 much appreciated. That seems like 4 years to me, definitely. But I know I haven’t been actively writing all these years…That’s for sure! When are you making your next post? lol πŸ˜†

      • We need a post about your writing journey. Maybe you already did one. Tell us more!

I have ideas for my next post! I was thinking about doing something for the fourth of July if I can get it together in time. We do a music camp here that I help run starting next week, though, so I’m in go mode until that’s wrapped up.

      • Haha, maybe one day! I don’t think I’ve actually made a post about it, no. 😊 thanks for your interest, that is much appreciated.
Aww, that sounds like an amazing 4th of July post, definitely a fun read and it sounds like a great cause. 😊

    • Thanks so much, Liz! I really appreciate that 😊 and yes, that’s something I need to work on, not holding myself too tightly to writing and certain strict expectations. It should be for my enjoyment, absolutely. The flow is where it’s at! 😊

  2. Happy birthday to your blog! πŸ™‚

So your blog is a Gemini, as it appears?

The photos are so energetic, intense, and overall amazing that I wish I were there, connecting with the storm πŸ™‚

I’m so glad that you returned ❀

PS: Don't put pressure on yourself! I also decided that one post a day + weekends off, is absolutely enough for me πŸ™‚

    • Haha, you’re right, my blog is a Gemini πŸ˜† that’s a pretty interesting way to look at it. No wonder I’m always discussing so many different things on here, it seems. Haha

And thank you, the storms have definitely been intense and prolific, I don’t think it stopped raining for days. A break for my AC, which was nice.

And thank you ❀️ it’s good for us to take breaks, much needed. I’ve decided once I start feeling that overwhelm again I’m gonna cut out for a bit. Sometimes, we just have to.

  3. Happy 3-year Anniversary! It’s been quite a stormy few day for you, both literally and metaphorically. I’m glad to hear you’re staying calm amidst the flooding.

Writing when inspiration strikes and releasing expectations sounds like a healthy approach. Wishing you a wonderful weekend, even if it’s filled with work.

Embrace the chaos and Be a Blessing!

    • Haha, thank you! I always do try to embrace the chaos if I can. 😊

Calmness and peace are what I strive for if I can, definitely πŸ™

And thank you for that, I hope you have a wonderful weekend as well! 😊

  4. Sounds like you’ve been through quite the storm, both literally and metaphorically! Taking that hiatus sounds refreshing though – sometimes disconnecting is the best way to reconnect with what truly matters. Here’s to finding that balance and diving back into things when you’re good and ready! Happy 3-year anniversary on WordPress, Laura!

  5. Welcome back, Laura, and happy anniversary. It’s really important to take breaks because we don’t want to get overwhelmed by doing too much. I try not to engage with WP on the weekends and keep my posting to 2-3 times a week. The rest of the week, I’m reading and responding to blog posts, but nothing structured. That gives me a good mental break and time to do other things.

    • Thanks for this, Edward! Sometimes we feel we need to be doing or posting something and keeping engaged 24/7 and it’s not always the case, sounds like you’ve got a great balance there and it’s definitely something I’m looking more to incorporating, as we need to enjoy our lives outside of the platform and posting on the blog, for sure. 😊 appreciate your kind words and support! Mental breaks definitely are needed.

  6. Yay! Congratulations, Laura ❀ … I want to jump through the images and feel the rain ~ Beautiful captures as always! I completely relate … one-minute ravenous writing episodes than sulking morphs into more content than waves of zilch, then before I know it a frenzy comes barreling down the pike and I gotta go surfin’ (lol)! Missed you and it was only a few days (hahaha)! Love ya Sister!

    • Haha. The rain has been absolutely lovely except for the flooding, but it’s definitely been so much cooler ❀️ yes, we’ve been there with the zilch and then thinking every idea sucks, writing then deleting, writing then deleting haha. Missed you too πŸ₯° and so appreciative of your concern my lovely sister! ❀️ 😊 πŸ€—

  8. Congratulations on your anniversary – the universe really does operate in strange ways (I always remember the Zen idea of sitting still to catch a butterfly (rather than running around with a net, if you take a break, they will land on you)) – even more so, because, by coincidence I just posted about my anniversary (5 months!) and included a shout-out to your blog to say thanks for reading. • Thank you so very much for this, and it’s funny because I’ve actually tried so hard to catch butterflies in images all the time, but it’s hard because literally everytime you move, they do too. Haha. Breaks are so needed, and happy blogging anniversary to you! 😊 πŸ’œ
