In the Flesh

Hey yall. It’s been a minute. My original intent was to only be gone for about a week, not over a month. A lot has transpired in that time, and many things I’m very grateful for.

Ummm….how long has it been?

I hope you all have been well.

Writing and blogging was set at the back burner for me for a bit, for several reasons. I love all of you very much, and of course you can always reach out to me – and I know I’ve been behind on emails so it may be a minute before I get back to you (I separated blogging email from work email) because well…

A lot of things!

Like juggling a bunch of hot coffee ☕️ and there’s nothing worse than spilled coffee! 😩

The number one was, I had to focus on my health and wellbeing and put every ounce of effort into finding a day job and an escape from the prison that my night job has been since…oh, about November 2024.

Thankfully, an out was found. Less pay, but normal working hours, among the living. I still love nights for its simplicity, but it’s long not been simple or easy, a lot of that having to do with the work itself.

Never an easy balance, especially floating mid-air

Among health and work issues, nothing was coming to me creatively. When your self- preservation is at the forefront, it’s often hard (at least for me) to come up with things that spark that initiative.

I can write to complain, and sometimes that’s a good, necessary way to get things out, but sometimes a bit of solitude and isolation is needed to form a plan.

And well, things seem to be looking up, both on health and the work front, so fingers crossed.

I also had a wonderful and amazing long-awaited experience finally come true.

It finally happened! And I got there in one piece…

A meeting with a very special soul.

It wasn’t long enough, of course – but I was so unbelievably excited, happy, and grateful that I was finally able to be in the same physical space of the one I share a true, deep, meaningful and loving connection with.

To be able to finally hear his voice in person, to make eye contact, to touch, hug, kiss, and share myself with him and him with me.

It was incredible.

Thank you for a wonderful time!

And even though there were some bumps, delays, and hiccups in getting there (let’s just say the first plane I tried to get on had hydraulic issues, ummm, no thank you!) the love and energy felt and put forth made it worth every effort.

So many beautiful places and spaces, all felt with love 💗

I’ll try to refrain from being too mushy or too personal, but I was so thankful for the time we spent together, inside and outside, and was blessed to be able to see some places near and dear to him which was such an honor.

A breathtaking view, and I love that moody sky.
Yes, it’s clear I belong here 😆 thank you, Kevin for catching this one for me 📸
A very special place 🙏

We also got the chance to celebrate a very special occasion (a little bit early, but still super important!)

And as you all might suspect, Kevin has great taste in food (and in women, clearly!) 😉

I wasn’t dressed this nicely 😆 but I wish I was!

Leaving and coming home was certainly hard after what felt like such a magical whirlwind and just an easy, incredibly beautiful and free-flowing feeling.

I can’t wait until next time.

Thank you, Kevin

I love you.

Heart-shaped leaf! 🍂 ❤️

Wellllll this certainly has been long enough. I’m going to try to readjust to my new routine as soon as possible, as the new daytime job starts Monday.

It may take me a bit, but I’ll be here in whatever capacity I’m able, and hopefully writing, reading, and interacting with you all soon enough.

As always, thank you for reading!

Have a great weekend! Happy Mother’s Day to all the wonderful moms out there!

As I said to Kevin, this is life and we’re all only capable of doing so much. Everyone gets it.
Take good care and nurture your lovely new relationship. That’s what’s important.
See you when we see you! Welcome back! 🥰

  6. That sounds so awesome 🙂 I’m glad you and Kevin were finally able to connect. Congrats on the job. It sucks to have to take this pay but mental health is definitely more important. I’ve made many decisions for the same kind of reason. Your writing is missed, but take care of you, you know we will still be here 🙂

  8. Awwe. So happy to read this that you share here in your post.
    Lovely photos.
So glad you two got a chance to meet up. And I hope the break away, even if it was longer than planned, helped. 😊

I have been taking a back seat blogging for a while. Although at one point you wouldn’t have thought so with the posts. But my posts have become less and my last post will be on the 22nd until whenever I am back. (I will be back at some point after I have had ny cochlear implant. Whenever that will be. Which I don’t think will be long as I had my pre-op a week ago.)

Have a lovely weekend and all the best with your new job. X
