Cat Woman 🐈‍⬛

Happy Tuesday, everybody! Are you ready for a flashback and an origin story (of sorts)? Well buckle up, there’s a tiny bit of yammering ahead. 

One year ago…

So, I’m not one to post too many photos of myself (please, shoot me if my blog ever becomes so self-absorbed where I feel the need to include a Snapchat-filtered selfie on every single post!) nor do I really re-hash last year’s prompts very much. Regardless, I would be remiss if I didn’t repost this one, especially for newer followers.

Regardless, remiss, repost. Ah hem. Sorry, got side-tracked there. 😆 Must be all that late-night work. Finally frying my brain. 

I’ve often referred to myself as Catwoman, and although one reason is because of my love of cats, it’s also because I’ve been cosplaying the character for a long time.

Anyways, here’s the origin story of Catwoman. Enjoy! 

Which animal would you compare yourself to and why?

A cat.

For many reasons.

Hopefully most are obvious, however.

Hold on, whilst my more nerdy side is exposed.

I’ve been cosplaying Catwoman for over 10 years, sheesh

I love all animals, but if I had to choose a favorite, it most certainly would be cats.

People either love cats, or they don’t. There usually is no in-between.

Also, I think I do have a bit of a “cat personality.”

Cats are mostly calm, collected, mysterious creatures.

They are not always quick to run to people they don’t know.

You must earn their trust before they love you.

They can be finicky, yes – but they tend to often be excellent judges of character.

And they are perfectly fine keeping their own company.

In some cultures, cats are considered divine creatures.

Yep, I’m definitely a cat person.

(This didn’t necessarily solve my writer’s block – however, it was a cute post to distract me from all the crap I’ve got going on at work today!)

  7. I am an animal mad person. I have always had some kind of pet whether it’s been goldfish, canaries, budgies, cockatiels, hamsters.

    But cats are mainly what I have had and towards the end it was a pleasure to have had rescued cats. The last two were rescued. One a stray and when she passed I went to a rescue centre for another cat and the love she gave and displayed, I felt smothered. Circumstances have changed to not have anymore. But if I did, I would go back to the cat rescue centre.

  11. Very cool pictures Laura! I’m starting to think I should appear LESS in my blog now! I get your affinity with cats though, even though we have a dog at the moment, I’ve always had cats before! Love your outfit – how on earth do you get into that sort of scene – can’t imagine it happens much where I am!

    • Oh no, Sharon 😆 I didn’t mean you by that reference! 🤣 please don’t take it that way 🙏 you always have a purpose (gardening, etc) and I loveeee your images. Some people just post their face to show off, or whatever it is they’re doing. And besides, if that’s what makes them happy, then who am I to say anything? I just meant for me as in myself ❤️🤗

      You know I don’t really remember…I’m into comics and stuff. The girl that I posed with me in these photos that is Poison Ivy got me into the show they had here in Miami. But most people just dress up and go to the comic conventions. Perhaps google that? “Comic Con near me” and I’m sure they may have something! They have contests and stuff though and some people get deep deep into it! It’s a whole other world for sure!

    • Omfg that is freaking hilarious 😆 I would give anything to see that! Animals sure are funny haha. I’m sure all cats would love to go back to times in Egypt when they were revered and worshipped haha 🤣 🐈‍⬛ 🐈

      • It’s a riot! One of the dogs got so spooked by the statues, he started barking so much, my guy had to go check out the commotion. He said the dog was hunkered down on the path, paws firmly dug in and barking his fool head off. The poor dog walker was standing there helpless! Hilarious! 😂😂

  28. I love the costume and the post. Do you have a favorite actress who played Catwoman?
    I’ve always been fascinated by the character. Some have pulled it off better than others.
    She really needs a defining series.. Like the dark knight trilogy. Just a proper stand-alone.

    • Oh man, great question! 🐈‍⬛ I think I have to go with Michelle Pfeiffer on this one. I like them all to some degree, but if I had to pick one I dislike the most it would have to be Anne Hathaway’s Catwoman, nothing against her personally, I just don’t think she has the vibe to play the character well enough. What about you? And I agree, Catwoman *so* does need a trilogy, such an intriguing character! My favorite, for sure. 😀

      • Yep., Michelle was my crush. Eartha Kitt was before my time, but my old man adored her. Then along came Michelle, and I fell in love with cat woman.
        Anne Hathoway needed a lil more sass, and dark energy.
        We should start a petition for a catwoman trilogy.

  30. I wanted to ask you which animal you identify with, but I’ve found the answer right now.
    I like cats too, as does my family, but only in manageable numbers, our cat-count for indoors having been limited to exactly 2 felines.

    • That’s true, they can get really out of control with so many. Cats are awesome animals but they definitely can get out of hand if you have too many. 2 is really a perfect number.

  37. Gorgeous and purrfectly divine attire … I love the meows, all felines and possibly every other kind of specie (lol). Crickets freak me out and arachnids (Idk why I rambled, sorry). So good to seee you, Loveee, and I’m cat-ching up to you! You’re going so fast … hahaha ❤ !!!
