A Dream…

We could be here all day with the stories I could tell about dreams!

Are you ready?

You’re getting sleepier, and sleepier…

…deeper and deeper we go

1. Dream portals open worlds to explore.

So many dimensions and realms, so little time *tick tock, tick tock*

Which door, dimension, or portal do you choose?

Deeper down, into those darker REM cycles…

2. Once a dream, now a nightmare.

Down the rabbit hole we go… 🐇 🕳️

Oops! Maybe I picked the wrong one?!

Even nightmares have significance in that big beautiful brain of yours!

…Perhaps now it’s time to wake up!

3. To dream is to live adventurously.

Dream big, lady!

If only all our waking dreams could come true.

Written for Shweta’s Six Word Story Prompt (6WSP), “Dream.” How could I skip this one?! Which of these 3 six-word stories was your favorite?

So many ways to describe dreams and dreaming, whether they’re the ones that take place while we sleep or in our everyday, waking lives. I have always been fascinated by dreams, and the messages they hold for us. I’m an extremely vivid dreamer, in realms of dreams while connecting with other souls, and even in my waking hours. A good deal of my writing stems from things I’ve seen in dreams (and nightmares!)

Whether waking or asleep, I would love to know what your dreams are! 😴

And with that being said…

all words and images, unless otherwise stated

I’m getting off work this morning, and it’s time for a snooze! Wish me pleasant dreams! 💤

Have a great start to your week!

  1. Well, we all know by k\now that I don’t dream, or at least don’t remember them. Luckily, I guess I have the ones while I am awake to hold onto.
    Well done, m’lady. Excellent. 💓💓

    • That’s very true. I think dreams can be and are symbolic in lots of ways too. Sometimes our fears and thoughts need to be worked out in our dreams before we can get down to the core of the really “good stuff” dreaming. Spoken as someone who’s had lots of anxiety nightmares! 😊 Thanks for sharing

      • I agree. And I think to see good stuff in our dreams, it circles back to what we entertain in our mind. Maybe positive thinking and visualization could manifest happy dreams. Easier said than done. Sending Good vibes to you!

      • What you say is so true, I do think what we surround ourselves with can impact us in many ways. And thank you! 😊 🙏 Many good vibes your way as well ✨

  2. This is a fun post! I’ve always looked forward to dreamland, and the mysteries and answers that await us there. Sometimes there are questions, but they stir in us the inspiration to find the answers during our waking life. Don’t forget lucid dreams, vivid dreams, astral travel, etc. I’ll be the one with the camera!

    • Thank you my friend! I love dreams too, they can be fun. And offer so much insight as well! I think it was Stephanie who mentioned a method where you ask a question before you fall asleep, whether in your head or write it down. And then hopefully your dreams will pose you an answer! Lucid dreams and prophetic dreams are a whole nother level! Same with astral traveling! You’re my dreamland photographer! 😀 Thanks for volunteering 👏

  3. I have some of the weirdest dreams. A reoccurring one is where I’m in a big hotel and have not checked out yet and it is after 6:00PM. I have to leave and know I’m going to be charged another night but won’t be there. I have no idea what it means but at least it is not horrible. I hope you have a good rest. I liked: to dream is to live adventurously.

    • That’s interesting, John! Thank you very much for sharing. Did you leave something behind in your hotel room, literally or figuratively? Very intriguing dream. This reminds me of “Hotel California,” that one line “You can check out any time you like, but you can never leave.” Thank you, my rest was good, but I’m not looking forward to the overnight shift here at work 😀

And yes, I like that one too! Speaks to how far our dreams can take us, if we dare.

  5. One time I dreamed of turning into Voltus5… my favorite childhood robot… wherever I went I just had to say a spell and fly. I don’t know what fuel it used at that time… I was disappointed because suddenly I turned back into a child and I faintly heard my mother grumbling.😔😔😔

    • Oooh that was perfect, Thomas! 😀 that goes with the nightmare image so well, haha! I love horror movies, was that from Insidious? And thank you, I need those pleasant dreams! ✨ I wish you only good dreams, too. 😌

    • I slept pretty good ❤️ thank you! 😊 Just now here at work 😩 and would rather be in bed! Omg, the nightmare image was so fun to generate! I had about a bazillion of them. I’ll have to send you some (not nightmares though, pleasant dreams only!) hehe ✨ sleep well! 😴

      • Well, as someone wise once mentioned (you), nightmares often offer wisdom too (paraphrased). ❤ I bet this creature has a lot to say. lol

      • ❤️ awww haha, it was weird cause I was generating the image and it started playing off the black cat and making the eyes all creepy. So then it gave me the idea to do the Cheshire Cat and man it came up with some fun and funny ones lolol

    • I think mine is too from working nights, Edward 😩 but when I’m off the dreams slowly come back (after the anxiety and stuff from the horror of the curse of working wears off!) lol 😂 oh yes, I’m well-caffeinated here at 1:38AM at work ☕️ ☕️ that’s always the solution! That paired with some extra strength Fukitol! 😆 💊

  6. Nice one Laura. I’m also a very vivid dreamer and have from time to time had to deal with what I can only describe as some sort of ‘demonic attack’ which sounds very dramatic but I’ve woken up in a sweat, with my mouth wide open as if I was still shouting and clutching the cross I wear round my neck. Has happened a few times! I’ve also had some concerning people who have passed on – one in particular was an amazing experience. I should blog about it one day! Hope you got a great sleep. 😴💤💤💤

    • I would love to hear about it! It’s always nice when we dream about our dear departed ones 🙏 especially when they leave us a nice message 💗 and oh, that sounds very unpleasant. Do you think it’s some sort of sleep paralysis? Do you ever feel like you’re being held down or something? Sounds most unpleasant 😰

    • Hmmm that sucks too when they just fall off like that. Mine tend to do that on and off. I hate it, I love when I can have a good dream. Have you tried melatonin? Some people say it gives them dreams. Valerian root and mugwort does as well.

      • They just fall off, dunno why.
We can’t get melatonin in the UK.
I’ll look out for the Valerian root and mugwort 🙂

  7. What a beautifully whimsical dive into the world of dreams! I love how you’ve captured the magic, mystery, and even the occasional mischief of dreaming. My favorite six-word story has to be “Dream portals open worlds to explore”—it perfectly encapsulates the endless possibilities of our imaginations. Wishing you the sweetest of dreams during your well-deserved snooze! 💤✨

    Thank you dear Laura.
