Hello everyone! I hope you are enjoying your week so far! Today, I’m participating in Kymber’s Get to Know You #55, Special Edition: two truths and a lie!

The idea is to tell two truths about yourself, and then one lie. Then you guys get to guess which one is the lie! Muahahah!

Ok, ok. I’ll calm down now. 😆

So, without further ado (and anymore yammering on my end), here are my two truths and one lie:

1. I used to attend a school for performing arts. I had to sing an audition to get in.

I practiced my audition for weeks! 🎤 🎶 (with extra fingers, too!) 😄

2. Bennett is actually my middle name.

3. I once won first place in a poetry contest at the college I attended for nursing school. 

My nursing school uniform was those ugly ass eggplant-colored uniforms. Blah!

And now, it’s up to you!

Which two are truth, and which one is the lie?

    • I agree with MM. The name “Bennett” is derived from the Latin “Benedictus,” meaning “blessed”. I think your real middle name might be something a tad more mischievous.

    • Thank you, MM! Bennett is in fact my middle name, chosen by my grandfather (his and my grandmother’s surname). My actual last name is a very Ashkenazi (ends in -berg, LOL) I decided to write with my middle name as my surname to honor my grandmother. And the good news is your vote counted! I won Author of the Month! Have a post going up shortly! 🤗 thank you, again! ❤️

My audition song was “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” LOL – it was in junior high school so maybe that’s why it seems so far removed. ❤️ the lie is I won first place in a poetry contest, I won third. Blahhh lol! 😆 Thank you for playing! 🤗 🥰

  10. Whoa, all plausible, as far as I know. I’ve scanned my mind and can’t remember anything about singing, though, so that’s the one I’ll pick. 🙂 You’d obviously make a gorgeous Cabaret singer, though.

    • You know now that you mention it, I don’t talk about it much. It seems like it’s so far removed. I was just telling Kymber how she would be pleased to know my audition song was “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” LOL – this was in junior high, I had to sing to get into a performing arts magnet program. Didn’t finish the program though (long story!) lol 😆 the lie is that I won first place in a poetry contest in college – I won third 🤣 and awww 🥰 thank you! ❤️ maybe I should do more singing haha 🎤 🎶

  15. Number one is a lie… I haven’t read any post of you showing interest in singing, but the other truths are quite clear.. I think I’ve Laura Bennett before on your blog. I intuitively think it’s yours. I hope my mind isn’t lying to me, lol.. anyways, this is an interesting challenge.

    🎭 Singing audition? Totally believable—I can already hear the high notes!
    📝 Middle name Bennett? Feels suspiciously… truth-y.
    📖 Poetry contest? Hmm… Eggplant uniforms may have been tragic, but did they inspire award-winning verse?

    My guess: The poetry contest is the lie! Unless, of course, it was the singing… or the name… Wait, I’ve overthought this. 😂 Can’t wait to see the reveal!

    • Haha, good guess! 😀 You’ll be pleased to know my audition song was “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” LOL! 😆 It was in middle or junior high school, I had to audition to get into a performing arts magnet program, which I did get in, but didn’t attend the entire time. The lie is the 3rd one – I won third place in a poetry contest in college (instead of first) haha! Great job with this one, Kymber 👏 👏 it was fun seeing everyone’s guesses! 💗 Looking forward to the next!

  35. I have not checked the previous comments, so I do not yet know which one is the lie. I’m guessing number 3 is the lie because those typos on the award ribbons seem like they might be a hint.
