Sunday Stroll

Hey everybody!

Happiest of Sundays to you all! I hope you’re having a peaceful day and a great start to the new week.

*deep breaths*

I’m back to work tonight, so I’d thought I’d take a walk in nature before three nights of chaos start and hopefully you’ll come along with me.

Let’s take a stroll across the bridge, shall we?

I took these photos probably several Sundays (or even Saturdays!) ago, but I still wanted to share them with you.

I love macro shots, even if sometimes they turn out a bit blurry 🌷

These photos are from two different places not too far from my home. One of them is a park nearby and the another is a really cool little place called, “Three Mountains Natural Area.”

The sky was also doing some interesting things

Now, we all know Florida is the flatland of the United States 😆 but this charming little area had some cute hills.

Walking upwards between the trees 🌳

Actually probably pretty decent if you’d like to do a little incline training for hikes!

Closer and closer

Taking a deeper walk in, among the shaded trees…

So much beauty in simplicity 🌱

Reminding us that nature doesn’t hurry, and yet everything is accomplished.

Hearts of green 💚

I love when I get a chance to catch a glimpse of all the beautiful beings as they go about their business.

Happy when I can catch the butterflies… 🦋 they are so fast!

And then there are some mischievous little friends peeking at us among the trees…

Hey! Found you again, Mr. Squirrel 🐿️ trying to blend in, are you?

Some different stuff growing on the trees as we traverse a bit off the beaten path.

Interesting looking fungi 🍄‍🟫

Anyone got a clue if they’re edible?

Probably won’t take any chances

And I’m not trying to be funny 😆 genuinely curious!

Moving right along…

I thought this was an interesting shot. You can barely see the sliver of the moon 🌙 to the very right

Some darker edits, just for fun.

Those trees ain’t playin!

They really do have a whole lot of stories to tell, if you listen.

Twists and turns…

And finally, as we look overheard and the birds make their presence known, the ominous clouds roll in and it’s time to go.

Birds of prey

I think a Sunday nap is rapidly approaching.

Thank you for joining me on this nature stroll. May you have a peaceful week ahead!

Hope you enjoyed!

I’ll be back tomorrow with a six-word story, keeping it a bit light on working days, (errr, nights!) but also trying to stay creatively engaged.

We need that outlet, after all.

      • Hahaha! Thank you! It will be smoother than last few weeks, as it is planned right now, at least, but I will definitely have two busy days at the beginning, when I also need to do some other stuff after work for home😅. But it will be good. Thanks for your wishes! Hope this first day was good for you! Happy Monday!!😀

    • Hold on 🤣 😆 I had to lmao at “MinneSNOWtah” lol 😂 is it weird that I miss the cooler grey tones that we had down here about a week ago? More cold vibes please! ❄️ I’ll send you some sun ☀️

      • Sounds like I managed to “speak it into being”. We’re now under a winter weather advisory (up to four inches of the white stuff), so we’ll like as not have at least a layer to cover up all the dead things 😀

Nothing weird about it. I like the greys and browns, but that’s all we’ve been seeing this year. It’s been a very unusual winter with less than six inches of snow TOTAL. And I can do without the subzero temps F. Blech.

      • Ooohhhh jeeez 🤣 I hate when that happens! I’m trying to manifest some rain and cooler weather. Yeah, I can understand not wanting to see the same stuff all the time. And I’ll take a pass on subzero as well! Brrr 🥶

  2. I really enjoyed this spectacular group of photos, Laura! A lot of colorful and dare I say tropical vibes going on here. That butterfly shot is a keeper– it’d make a nice jigsaw puzzle photo. Great job!

And thank you for the moment of reflection your share provided as I sit here with the snow and minus degrees (too low to mention…Lol) outside the window. I appreciate the delights of the warm weather in your photos. Inspiring. Cheers.

    • Hmmm I wonder why? Are you using mobile or PC? Maybe it’s just a WP glitch like so many of the issues are. 🙄 Well I am received your comment and I’m glad you were able to get through! 🙏 I’m so appreciative and I love that photo as well! The nap was good too 😆 not long enough haha

      • I am glad you had a good nap but too bad it was not long enough. A lot of my comments fail to post today so I have gotten in the habit of copying them and try again. It is not just blog it is everyone’s. I also have to login into WP over and over again. I should say I am continuously logged in so I don’t know what is going but I’ve seen it before.

      • Hmmm your comments aren’t going to spam are they? Sometimes I have that, where it constantly says “error” very frustrating! I’ve heard a lot of people say too they have to keep logging in to comment. Let’s hope it gets resolved soon along with all the other glitches they have ugh 😩 😒🙄

      • Yeah I’ve had the happen before too. I end up copying and pasting the comment too multiple times. It doesn’t happen all the time, just at random. Very frustrating!

The heart of green is so so beautiful. I've also never heard of these places and find the Three Mountain name fun and cheeky. Wishing you all the rest you deserve and a little ease in your work this week!

      • I took a photo last night, the moon was in it and I didn’t realize until I looked later. Felt like I was communicating with you in some weird way. 🙂 And YES! Let’s hope for that kind of week: calm, sane as possible. ❤

  5. I immensely enjoy this blog, Laura, with the tiny details. I love the sky, the trees, the animals, the nature overall. I so want to walk those hills, hug those trees, catch those butterflies, and savor those beautiful flowers. The place looks magical, especially on the bridge. I just love to sit down there, feel the sound of the water and the cool breeze.

Alright, this comment gets too long.🤭🤭 Thank you so much for sharing this gorgeous place, Laura! Stay amazing.

  6. I’m glad you got that walk in before your nightshifts. The walk in nature will certainly help to get through those next few night shifts a little bit easier, than if you hadn’t done it.

    A beautiful walk. 😊

      • Yes, helpful to sort out thoughts. But also better than four walls. If I haven’t been out in nature at least once in the week, I will start to feel very caged in by the start of the second week.
My week is starting off well, thank you. 😊

      • That’s so true! Cabin fever. It creeps up on you slowly and then it’s like “aha!! I haven’t gotten fresh air today!” Really so good for us.

Glad it is starting off well! 😊 I’ll be off work in about 2 hours or so and then hibernating 😭 lol! The back for round 2 tonight

      • I’m getting off soon from working overnight (I get off at 7AM) and then I go back tonight at 7PM. I work 12 hour shifts. It’s a lot haha 😆 and yeah it makes for a busy day too and you’re right because I get off then go back same day, even though there’s 12 hours in-between (more like 10.5-11!) 😆 lol. Blah 😑 I’m trying to find daytime hours so I can have somewhat of a “normal” schedule. The only thing I’m thankful for is it’s 3 days a week. Just long, no matter what way you look at it.

        Liked by 1 person

      • I couldn’t do 12 hour shifts. I have done in the past, years ago in a different job – 2 days in a row when I did overtime. But as much as I loved the job, I couldn’t do 12 hours of it.
But if you could get a job working days, that sounds better than a mix of days and nights.

        Liked by 1 person

      • Oh yeah, for sure! Right now I only work overnight so I’m thankful for that. I’ve mixed them before in the past and that’d nightmare 😱 I’ve shifted a lot over the last year as well. But hoping for something decent soon enough. We’ll see 😂

      • Me too. One of these days, though. 😉😘
I am glad it wasn’t a terribly stressful week. Not a fan when they hit you like that any more than you are 🤗
