Bean Thinking

Hey everybody!

Here’s a creatively concocted caffeinated collaboration between a Dawg Daddy and a Caffeine Queen to hopefully get your Manic Monday started out on the right foot (errr, sip?)

Without further ado…May the caffeine chaos commence!

Bean Thinking

Ernie’s Part:

Trying to wake in the morning is sometimes hard to do
Good thing these little beans act like magic for me and you
White blossoms appear after three to four years of growth
Showing green cherries that blacken promising a caffeine oath

Bundled up for sale and packaged in ground or whole bean style
You can get them in a drive thru or find them in a grocery aisle
The strong aroma leaves you feeling such sweet anticipation
Without these little beans we curse the world to hell fire damnation

Bold and refreshing as it passes over the lips to the gullet below
The stronger the brew the more happiness is allowed to show
Through the morning fog of madness coffee is my best friend
Now I turn this over to the Caffeine Queen to hear about her blend

Indulge in some Peaceful Insanity ✌️☕️

Laura’s Part:

In throes of chaos, with a day long-planned ahead
Scary thoughts of being un-caffeinated fill my mind with dread
Iced or hot, add shots of espresso for an extra kick
Once that heavenly aroma hits, it’ll wake you up real quick

Dark roasted beans warm my cold heart with fire
It gets the brain going, with thoughts and ideas to inspire
Finding comfort and peace in that very first sip
Drinking it strong and bold, the brain goes for a wild trip

Morning, noon, or night – I’m up for an extra cup or three
Paired with some “Fukitol,” a fantastic feeling so free
Americano or macchiato, even a latte will do
From the peacefully insane, we hope you’ve enjoyed our home brew!

Hope you enjoyed this caffeine-infused collab! It was a fun write and thank you again to Ernie Dawg for the shared love of being a coffee consumption connoisseur!

And I’m way behind on posting a review for Ernie’s wonderful book – Ink Stained Love – but if you enjoyed this poem you’ll enjoy his book even more!

Have a great start to the week!

    • Hahaha 🤣 😆 that was so cute! Ernie came up with that title and I love it too much! Omg, don’t even let me think about the dread 😰 😱 of not being caffeinated. 💀 I hope you enjoyed your coffee, I’m off to hibernate after working 12 hours overnight! ☕️ Appreciate you, lovely! ❤️

  4. All around fantastic, both contributions! I’m not sure I’m in the majority here, but I find myself much more drawn to Laura’s ‘parts’ than Ernie’s. Laura doesn’t just sip coffee—she wields it like a weapon of mass enlightenment. Her words simmer with boldness, her dark-roast passion spiking straight to the heart. ☕️

    • 🤣 😆 ok, that was pretty hilarious 💀 coffee as a weapon of mass enlightenment?! Yes 🙌 I would have to agree with you there. I’m glad you feel my passion for sweet coffee which is life! 😆 Thanks for the laughs. Hope you’re having a great week so far! ✨ ☕️

    • Right?! 😀 good for a wake up call! ☕️ ☕️ thank you Destiny, I remember how you like your coffee too, oddly enough 🤣 and I’m similar, “not too fussy” just enjoy it and feel alive from the caffeine. Have a great day 🤗 ✨

      • I’ve always drunk cappuccinos (and occasionally what is known as a ‘dirty’ in Thailand, which is different to a ‘dirty’ in Australia). My local cafe roasts his own blend of beans and knows that I like a ‘real’ cappuccino which is one-third foam.

When I was a barista in Australia I soon learned that most shops treat cappuccinos as lattes, but like I said, I’m a snob! Got to have lots of foam.

      • Nice! That’s very interesting in the difference as well, often makes you wonder why one is different from the next. Thanks for sharing, learned something new! 😀

  5. Another fun, creative poem! Seeing your enthusiastic love for coffee makes me grin, even though I’m a tea drinker myself. (Coffee is too bitter a taste for me to enjoy – I have a similar issue with beer – although I’ve learned how to order espresso based drinks like PSL from Starbucks and other coffee shops now: I just ask for it with half the amount of espresso, and sometimes sigh and explain that no, I wouldn’t prefer it made with decaf and the normal amount of coffee.)
