A week or so before I felt unwell and needed to take a break from work and life, I took a beautiful walk in nature where I got some lovely photos, this gorgeous Hibiscus flower being one of them.
I needed that walk before I started a chaotic workweek – to tune into my soul, refresh my mind, open my heart and be one with the beauty of nature.
Nature and all its wonders certainly can and do have that renewing effect on us and Iโm glad Kevin was able to capture the essence of this feeling with his beautiful words in the poem he wrote for this image.
Truly the experience you receive with all the โalivenessโ (and yet somehow, stillness) around you, just being among the peace that only outdoors can bring.

I hope that every new day is like a beautiful blooming flower for you. Behold its power to transform your energy and mind with a simple touch of beauty.

Thank you for reading, you are always appreciated. ๐
Happy Saturday!

Still a lovely and fantastic photo, m’lady. Gorgeous photography, and I am very grateful for the chance to add words to it. Thank you so much ๐

Love the red hibiscus. I just read a ten-year-old post of mine where I said I planned to get a tattoo of a red hibiscus and a white plumeria to remember the White Terror and the Red Terror in the Spanish Civil War, a time in history that fascinates me. The country was torn apart by revolution and people were so cruel to each other, often over personal grievances as much as political ones. I got the tattoo, along with lots of ferns as a symbol of life. It runs over my ribs and I still remember it being the one that hurt the most.

Oh wow! Thatโs a cool story, Ted. Yeah, I imagine that would hurt but it does sound like a beautiful (if a bit sad behind the meaning) tattoo. And 10 years?! Youโve been on WP 10 years or this is somewhere else? ๐

I did my first post on 4/19/2015. Iโd attended a writersโs conference and asked some impertinent questions about how to get published. They said to develop an online presence, start a blog, so I did. Two days ago I read over some of my early posts (I moved them all into the Blather section of my homepage) and thereโs some good stuff there, though no one paid any attention to it. The gist was I really wanted an agent, I really wanted a publishing contract, I really wanted to feel like a successful writer. Thereโs a lot about my novels on there, the progress I was making. Eventually I lost interest and let it languish for a while. About two years ago I decided to just publish my stuff right on WordPress, and stop worrying about success, or money, or any of that other stuff that doesnโt have anything to do with being creative. The results have been amazing๐.
