Beginnings… (#6WSP)

Here’s to a new beginning!

Endings always bring forth new beginnings.

This is my submission to Shweta’s Six Word Story Prompt (6WSP) “Beginnings.”

As it goes without saying, where there is an end, there is also a beginning.

A new start, a transition, a transformation. Out with the old, in with the new. Endings can also be painful but necessary for growth. Sometimes we don’t want things, relationships, situations, or circumstances to end, but hopefully when they do – they open a door to something much better.

It is my greatest wish for you to make all your new beginnings count in this upcoming year and beyond!

Laura Bennett, 2024

Happy Sunday! I hope the weekend has been peaceful thus far for you.

      • You’re most welcome. I thought the word was very apt since the new year was just around the corner!
P.S: I had sent a very delayed response to your email. I was wondering whether you had not received it yet. Sorry about that btw. I thought I had replied sooner. 😐

      • Ohhhh no worries! My email has been doing something so weird lately. I had to clear out a bunch of stuff because new ones wouldn’t load 😆 I’ll check ❤️ thank you for letting me know 🙏 I feel like I miss so much because of that thing!

  2. Nice end to the year. Say, I like that you use images that seem to feature a caricature of yourself. Are they AI generated? If so which one allows you to create an AI selfie like this? I like that they’re consistent across your images, I can’t get my AI platforms to do that yet.

    • Glad you approve, sir! 😘 😍 And yes, you’re right! Hopefully lots of good new beginnings (and some endings that need to happen, cough cough, job) anytime soon! 🤣

      Thank you as always ❤️

      • Okay, trying this again! Netflix ads aren’t terrible, so I keep at that level of membership. Also because there really isn’t much that is Must Watch there. When middle child was here we watched British Bake Off, and the show I watched yesterday was British spy drama with Kiera Knightly. It was just okay, not as good as the one with Keri Russel. That one’s really good. The Diplomat?

What are you in the mood for? What’s the most recent thing you really liked?

      • Hmmm good question. I think that’s the problem, there’s soooo much out there and I can’t decide on just one! I used to be able to get lost in tv shows but I find I can’t do that as much anymore.

I really enjoyed Dexter, Vikings, shows like that. It’s hard to place. I get too lost sometimes with Sci Fi but I do enjoy that every now and then, too.

A spy drama actually sounds really cool, I think I’ve heard of The Diplomat as well.

I think more than anything, I need something that’ll let my brain just relax. I still feel like I need to maybe pick up gaming again 😆

      • Queen’s Gambit! If you haven’t seen that, it’s visually great and riveting. It does feel like there’s so much to choose from, yet just a few stand-out shows in various categories. It’s engaging enough to disconnect from the rest of life a while. 🙂 Although, gaming might fit the bill even better!

      • Nice! Never heard of that one, I’m gonna look into it ❤️ thank you!
And yes, brain has been a bit…fuzzy and all over the place. Thinking too many thoughts and then forgetting them and going “what was it I was gonna say?” Hate that brain fog, but I’m sure nights doesn’t help 😆 high stress environment so lots of anxiety and just needing that *switch off*

Disconnect is a perfect way to say it! 😊

  4. Happy Sunday to you too and Happy New Year, and above all Happy Black Moon. As I understand, the Black Moon we are having today (Dec 30) is a pretty rare event. The next one will be the year 2037. I for one is going to go out and look at the night sky with my telescope but I won’t be able to see the Black Moon because, well it’s black.

      • Sorry, another error, I wrote the next one after this is 2037, but it is 2027. I just used my telescope to watch Venus and Jupiter and the Galilean moons (mars is rising soon) but it won’t make much of a difference here in Dallas. But for those far out on the country side or at a dark spot, the fact that there is no moon makes it easier to watch the sky, well assuming it is clear.

      • Not a worry! 😊 That’s so cool! Good to know. I was just saying the other day how it’s much harder it is to get a good pic of the moon by my house because they just installed a light pole right by the street where I usually take my pics. Ugh! 😩 but I did manage to get a (smaller) size telescope 🔭 so I’m hoping to use that soon enough to hopefully get some more decent views! Thanks for the info as always, Thomas!

      • Yes light pollution really ruin things. The number of stars I can count here in Dallas on a clear night is less than 20. In northern Sweden, in a national park, or a dark spot there’s 3,000 individual stars visible with the naked eye, plus the Mily Way, which really has hundreds of billions stars but you can’t see them indiviudally.

      • Well, if I didn’t before – now I definitely want to go visit Sweden! 😆 Definitely though National Parks at night is where it’s at. Maybe I’ll catch some in Washington soon enough! Florida has a couple of good spots but it’s gotta be reeeeeally out there, with the gators 🐊 LOL 😱

      • Yeah I am not sure I would like to do stargazing with alligators. I assume you mean Washington state. That sounds like a great trip I’ve never been there. I am sure there are a lot of places there with dark skies.

      • Yes, Washington state is really beautiful. Lots of nice national parks there too. I’ve also heard Key West is nice for stargazing, so maybe see if there’s a good area if you have a chance while down there 😊

  6. Reminds me of an old Jazz standard where the lyrics go “This is the end of a beautiful friendship…and the beginning of love.” Many covered it. Ella did a good version. So did Nat King Cole.
