Dreams Upon Stars

Childhood dreams are wishes upon stars.

Sometimes we wish upon stars, and our dreams do really come true, even as adults.

In childhood, we have the imagination to allow ourselves to go anywhere, to be anyone, and to do anything. Carrying some of that playfulness over into adulthood when we are able, always helps us reminisce of that joyful spirit.

Have a great weekend!

I’ll be gearing up for a four night stretch of work here! 😴

Written for Kevin’s No Theme Thursday (now on hiatus) and Shweta’s Saturday Six-Word Story Prompt (6WSP) “Childhood.” (Late! Sorry Shweta!)

My apologies 😬 I hadn’t been on as much and truly wasn’t sure if I liked this one! Happy weekend!

Edited to add – my likes aren’t working. Hopefully I’m not in WP jail or something. I’ll “like”, it will “stick” and then when I go back to the post, it’s not there. Sorry to anyone this is happening to 😢

  1. Oh, that’s a beautiful take, Laura. I love it. I’m so glad that you didn’t let this one sit in your drafts!

It can be hard to invoke that playfulness in our adult life at times, but childhood always offers much to reminisce over.

Hope you have a great weekend too. Oh, another stretch of overnight 12s?

  2. Your words truly resonate with me! It’s amazing how the magic of our childhood dreams can still find a place in our adult lives. That sense of wonder and playfulness keeps our spirits alive and brings so much joy. Here’s to never losing that childlike sense of wonder. Have a fantastic weekend!

  3. That is so true when you put it that way 🤩.

I’ve been noticing the same thing with my ‘likes’ too. I thought it was my internet but WP again 😵‍💫.

    4 nights, happy working 😅.

  4. Beautiful share Laura. The gift of imagination should never grow old or be less magical as one grows up. All the best this long weekend for you. I pray that you have a moment’s pause somewhere in that long stretch to take a break. Cheers!

    • Good to know, Phil! If I’m not on for a while, even a whole day, I can “run out” of likes it seems trying to play catchup! I’ll keep that in mind about restarting! Thanks 🙏 and I hope you’re having a great weekend, appreciate your kind words about the post 😊

      • My pleasure Laura! I know it is frustrating. With each new update WP has problems. Not enough testing I think. But give it a try! Thanks and have a great week! 😊😊

  5. The like thing always happens to me, which is why I’ll comment on a post and weeks later like it! I’ll have somehow discovered the like not there. Frustrating, but I trust my fellow bloggers to know if I commented, for sure I liked the post! 🙂

This is lovely, too. Dream like a child, is a great idea. ❤

    • Oh yeah, I’ve seen that before too!! 😆 A comment, but then I know I liked it. So frustrating! That’s so true too, if I’ve commented, I definitely have liked it! Anything to mess with us sometimes it seems 🤣

Yes, I liked that idea. Wish it could happen more often but hey, a nice thought ❤️

    • You’re right of course 🥰 🥰 thank you for reminding me of my own power and abilities all the time 🙏 you’re right, we often allow ourselves to be forgotten amongst the chaos. Appreciated always ❤️ 😍

  6. 🤗👧🏼Beautiful text Laura. I think it is very important to bring our “inner child” into adulthood, it also brings us healing. Thank you for sharing this reflection with us and the beautiful image of Kevin as always. I wish you a great Sunday.🤗🙌✨🌕🌌

  7. What dreams are star wishing on this evening, pray tell. Are you one who worries that uttering your wishes make them dissipate? I am not sure about how I feel about that myself, but I don’t find the universe spiteful of my wishes, just ignorant, so I may as well spit them out!! 🌱

  8. Stellar and precious … Hope all your “good” dreams come true for you ~ ❤

Oh, and just recently (finally) got my dreams back and had a prophetic one that just actually came to be (weirdly) !!! The reason it stuck out was this dream I was navigating through a monsoonal rainstorm AND did !!!! Trippy (LOLOL) … My dream and wish is that you have an awesome week and holidaze, Loveee ❤

  10. Beautiful post, my friend. Keeping that childhood wonder becomes difficult as we age and run smack into hard reality. But I still have it. I guess I’m a dreamer at heart, always imagining what could be and how to get there 😎❤️

BTW, the like thing… I’ve noticed that, too… the “like” fills in green for about two seconds… you’re ready to leave… and your like disappears I think for me it’s related to my AV program. If I shut off the VPN, the “like” sticks.

    • Thanks for the information about the likes! It really is so frustrating. Ugh 😩 anything I can do to fix that I’ll certainly try!

And I hear you on being a dreamer at heart. Appreciate your kind words, Darryl 😊 happy thanksgiving and I hope you’re enjoying yourself! 🦃 🫶

  11. Beautifully expressed!!!! I can feel this poem tinged with a melancholic sweetness even though I’m just 13!

This generation is a bit too fast forward, I guess. Everyone wants to grow up fast thinking it will be better rather than savouring and enjoying every moment and every sway of the leaves!🍃

Btw I also write poems check out my blog if you want to!

    Anyways an eye opening poem!
