Daily writing prompt
What alternative career paths have you considered or are interested in?

…Highly paid.

And of course, fulfilling to my life’s purpose.

Yep, I’ve said those words before, more times than I can count…DEUCES ✌️

I don’t have to be a nurse forever – definitely not!

CEO of Napping?

This is the life, it’s as close to being a cat as you can get

Count me in!

Coffee Quality Taste Tester?

Don’t spill your coffee, lady! That’s caffeine abuse! ☕️

Surely you need one of those!

Professional AI fails creator?

Staying hydrated never looked so awkward💧

I’m right up your alley!

Real-Life Catwoman?

If Batman is included, yes please! (Thank you for the image!) 🥰

Oops, I forgot…shhh 🤐 secret identities and all that!

On a serious note, (and I’ve only said this about 5976237 times, but you know, count your reps for the daily prompt and all that) I’ve never been the type of person to be defined by any one career.

There’s a different side to me outside of my job and what I do for a living, as I’m sure there is for many of us.

Draft Queen? ✍️ Burn all the drafts! (There’s definitely something on fire back there)…

You’ve heard me complain about it on here often enough (Professional Complainer?!) so the job that affords me the best freedom in life as well as decent pay is something right up my alley.

I don’t have to be a millionaire, although I’m sure no one on here is turning that down if the winning lottery ticket happens to float their way.

I’m not a magician but I may know someone who is!

When I find out what the magic formula is, I’ll let you know.

At the end of the day – all work is work. And if I can go a day without being at work, it’s always a blessing.

Happiest Thursday, may your cup be ever-flowing! ☕️

  1. Today is one of those days where I wish I was independently wealthy so I could just skip dealing with pessimistic coworkers 🙂

“I have an idea. What if we…?”

“It’ll never work. Period. Full stop.”

    “But–”

“Never. Might as well put the noose around your neck now to choke out all of the bad ideas you think are good ones and jump.”

    “Okay. Wow.”

  2. Let me know what the magic formula is when you find it. I’ll get on with winning the lottery. I won’t tell anyone you’re catwoman if you don’t.

I think the rest of them missed that bit lol

  3. I can picture you finding something that would turn into a business but for yourself. but it would also become something that you would have alot of fun with as it allows your creativity and energy to run free, while giving needed jobs to people, and somehow being a benefit to everything in the intermediate area.

nevertheless, i can imagine your positive energy benefiting the places that get the privilege of your work ethic. but, you know…early retirement doesn’t sound bad either 😀 ! Mike

    • This was actually so insightful, Mike! Thank you 😊 I’ve definitely thought of starting a few different little business ventures here and there. Now all I need is time, money, energy 😆 and yes, if it’s a creative endeavor, that’s even more amazing but difficult to get paid for.

Thank you for the kind words about my positive energy – I feel like that’s not often valued enough. 🙏

Early retirement would be ideal, yes 😂 🙌

      • that’s cool! yes, capital is always the main constraint, isn’t it? lol.

i guess until we all find our desired alternative paths – we will just be blogging here on WP. personally, I don’t mind at all 😀

  4. I agree with most of what you said, but honestly, I don’t know that I even care if it’s aligned to my life’s purpose or not. Just pay me. Cash money is my life’s purpose. 😄

  5. Have you found that magic formula yet????
    It’s all I ever wanted 😂

I wish I could take a day (or a month) off of work 🤣 my coworkers are a little much lately!

When I win the lottery, I will let you know 😉

    • I know right?! I’ll let you know if I ever do find it. Lol 😆
A month off of work would be most ideal. Especially paid! That’s an even better ideal 🤣 I hope you get a chance to take a break soon 😊

      Coworkers…don’t get me started 😆
      Sounds like a plan!! 💰 💰

  6. Awesome! I would love to apply for a job at your napping company. I’m all for it, and you can pay me minimum wage. Coffee Quality Taste Tester, that would be my dream job! Also, I love how you’re holding the cup. I’m going to try that in a minute when I get my cup of coffee #2. 😂

    • Thank so much, Mary 😊 that’s appreciated 🙏 that’s true, the jobs can be much more versatile sometimes then we realize ❤️ I am incredibly grateful for your encouragement, as well 😊 and you’re right…the path can lead us down many different avenues

  7. I came up with the saying “we’re all individually unique yet we’re all fundamentally identical”. It’s impossible to compare yourself to someone else (fictional characters or real life characters) as you will have your own unique personality traits that make you special. I think it’s just about being yourself, as you can’t be no one else and grabbing life by the throat and squeezing the most out it as you can. It’s you that might then be looked upon as a superhero by others who wish they could have the ability to do what you are doing. Never stop being yourself

  8. The reality is a whole generation not doing the same gig forever, the librarian with the house on the hill is selling legalised joints and doing everything part time, folks ain’t putting up with slave wages, with snitching Co workers and snake hound bosses if they can help it, in English if you don’t have to be a Lifer ain’t a job, then go find something else before it drives you batty. All the coffee, tea, cakes, great value sugar foods and the daily mind rot is played, take them chances

    • Thanks for your insightful comment as always 🙏 definitely it’s not the same as it used to be, and can you blame the librarian? 😆 it’s not easy to live on the salary anymore for just 1 job, and let’s not forget it’s a money-making machine everywhere you go. You’re just a number. And yeah…life goes on. But it’s definitely not getting easier, and employers aren’t getting more respectful or supportive, but yet expect loyalty?? Nahh, I’m good

    • Thank you! 😊 incredibly kind of you to say! 🙏 I try to respond to all but sometimes I miss a few and then I feel bad, time constraints and all.

I’m a nurse. But I hope to do other things in my lifetime as well 😊

  9. hi Laura! what a witty prompts! About the addition in your careeer path, well you could become all, but not at the same schedule. Coffee sommelier exists, bed tester also, super heroe -comicon.
I was paid to check the best night clubs and restaurants because i was their advertiser, free drinks included.
You will know what job or tasks you want to include, it also depends of burning out or something more resilent aligned to your worth. You will find the match between the job, wage and stamina applied.
I cheer with a jar of Carajillo coffee and long Island Ice tea!

  10. A happy Thursday to you, Laura! Work that allows you to experience getting lost in the “flow” as described by Mihály Csíkszentmihályi and that gives one a sense of being on purpose is a worthwhile pursuit, whatever that might be. ✨ Catwoman or coffee taster. 😁

  11. The creativity you bring to these props never ceases to impress in these me.:-) but as others have said don’t sell yourself short 🙂 still plenty of time out there to develop a secret identity
