Out of the Ashes

Her soul reclaimed, her mind unchained

Out of the ashes, a raging spirit fights

From hollow pain, a soul of the night

Blazing torches of a brave heart within

A light unseen, which can’t be dimmed

Her purpose is greater of that unknown

From realms of dreams, her spirit roams

Free from chains that shackle and bind

Liberated from prison of her own mind

Strength restored, she reforms her way

Reborn anew, to write forth another day

She’s faced the storm, the battle’s done

In the end, she rises β€” she’s already won

Sometimes we are prisoners and captives of our thoughts – the hardest demon we have to beat to rise up, and out of the trenches is often within the walls of our very own mind.

Don’t forget to embrace your fighting spirit. If you have that within, it will never let you down.

It’s your story, no one else’s. You can re-write it at anytime. Get back up, and get moving.

  1. Oh, yeah, the battlefield of the mind, the worst kind. Thoughts not only will imprison you, but they will beat you down if you let them. Great post, Laura, and I love the “Get back up, and get moving” line.

    • Thank you, Edward πŸ™ this one was personal to me, a motivator. Glad if it spoke to you 😊 and you rhymed there, too! πŸ˜† Definitely inspirational β˜•οΈ β˜•οΈ our mind can really mess with our vibration, if we let it

  2. Great post. Overcoming our fears, and forgiving ourselves are two of our hardest battles. Sometimes it takes talking things out with a trusted friend to help us see things from an unbiased perspective and move on. Loved the poem within a poem… very clever and well written. Bravo! πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘

    • Thanks so much Darryl! 😊 I had wondered if anyone was going to mention the poem within a poem πŸ˜† and I agree. It is sometimes about forgiving ourselves as well πŸ™ much appreciated 😊
