Leave Enemies and Envious Behind

This is a submission for Kevinโ€™s No Theme Thursday.

Youโ€™ve reached the top.

Finally.

The view from here is great.

Do you know what it took you to get here?

Blood, sweat and tears.

Trying, over and over again.

Failing, over and over again.

Obstacles.

Roadblocks.

Anger, jealousy, and people trying to sway you from every which direction.

But you have a message for them:

โ€œStop being jealous of people in their winning season. You donโ€™t know what they lost in their losing season.โ€

Donโ€™t let anyone else take that from you.

Claim what is yours.

Be proud.

Stand tall.

You made it.

I read this random quote the other day and it resonated with me. I canโ€™t seem to find the author, but I thought it was a good message.

Happiest of Sundays!

  1. Very good message indeed. And I’ll be honest – Leaving the enemies behind part is a struggle for me. I hold grudges for a very, very long time. Especially if it’s someone who is messing with people who are close to me, as you well know.
It’s truly great advice. Just not easy for some of us to follow.

    • Of course not, which is why we need reminders over and over again ๐Ÿ˜‰
Itโ€™s not easy to allow things by the wayside, itโ€™s a test in some ways, and it can throw us out of alignment.
You especially have come so far from where you were. You should be incredibly proud of that ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿค—

  2. โ€œStop being jealous of people in their winning season. You donโ€™t know what they lost in their losing season.โ€ I like that quote and you wrote a great poem. I’ve seen references to “Kevin” in a few posts today. I have to find out who Kevin is.

    • Thanks Simon ๐Ÿ˜Š I do so appreciate your input. I think it can kinda lend to a deeper level of thinking, that maybe, just because someone is where they are in life (or not) isnโ€™t something we should always compare if we can. People have different experiences and paths which lead them to where they are today

    • So true, youโ€™re right Mary ๐Ÿ˜Š we just move onto whatever the next thing is, I think thatโ€™s kinda just the way of life but sometimes itโ€™s interesting to look back and reflect too

  3. I love this quote: “Stop being jealous of people in their winning season. You donโ€™t know what they lost in their losing season.” This is a mind refresher that success is often built on setbacks and that we should celebrate our own progress, no matter where we are in our endeavors.

    • Thank you Stanley! I think thatโ€™s kinda the point Iโ€™m trying to make as well, that everyone has their own levels of when they attain (and obtain) and we shouldnโ€™t compare ourselves to everyone else
