Shadows of Autumn
In the dead of night
Where veils are thin
Upon a full moon’s light
Shivering, goosebumps
With chills of cool air
Potent and haunting
Weave a spell if you dare
Gazing through the void
Into mirrored images, black
Hair-raising and chilling
Never turning your back
Craggy paths of forests
Lightly treading through
Searching for the answers
Of a mystical truth
Holding ancient secrets
Trees rustle and whisper
Red glowing eyes, watching
Frigid air grows thicker
Magical black cats
In their element, at home
As you walk ever deeper
On a dark path, alone
You stumble and trip
Trying to find your way
A creature of the night
Wandering soul by day

It’s my favorite month 😉 and my favorite season 🌒
(This was originally supposed to be for the Harvest Moon, and then it morphed into a post for the beginning of Fall…but then I had to change it up a bit since I took a leave of absence 😬 hope y’all like it!)

I’m losing my interest in sweets lately. They just don’t taste all that good, although I’ve not been tempted by my kryptonite yet: baked sweets 🍩

Good! I feel like once you cut out the sugar the taste for it really does go down, or it becomes too overwhelming.
Just remember, all in moderation. But honestly, if you’ve been doing well, definitely don’t tempt yourself 🙏 😊

October and Halloween is a fun month and here in north Texas the temperature is very comfortable. Your poem is magical and mystical fun and was a delight to read.
