Static.

This is a submission for Kevin’s No Theme Thursday.

Sometimes the thoughts are too much, so much so that you have to tune them out with what feels like a frequency of static – the noise is overwhelming, yet comforting all at the same time.

Silencing your thoughts among the chaos, because every moment, every decision, every word just feels like a riddle that needs to be solved, leaving the mind racing with possibilities.

β€œWhere am I going, who am I, what is my purpose in life, what does so and so think of me, and what would happen if I take this path?”

Often we are in desperate need of silence, but even in silence, that static is deafening.

And if you are listening – how tuned in are you, really?

Sometimes, just as we’re about to give up, we receive a sudden jolt of electricity, like a revelation almost, that shatters the static wavelength with a message etched into the silence:

“You’ve been looking for answers in all the wrong places.”

My first attempt at a six (almost seven!) 😬 sentence story.

Hope you enjoyed – don’t allow the static to rot your brain 🧠 πŸ“Ί

  1. You’re right that even in quiet moments, the noise in our minds can be overwhelming. It’s a great reminder to keep searching for answers, even when things are unclear.

    Great Post Laura πŸ€—

    • Hey Alex 😊 thank you, soon! Just a lot going on with 2 different jobs. Soon enough, haha. You know how life and chaos takes over sometimes. It either fuels the writing fire or it doesn’t πŸ˜‚ thank you for checking, always so appreciated πŸ™ hope you are well too 😊

  2. Thought I would have to send out a search party and come save you. The thoughts of alien abduction or you went around the world to fight in underground cage matches came to mind. 🀭

Glad you’re okay, sweetie. Don’t work yourself too hard. Remember, this is your real job. Come back soon. Stay safe. ☺️

  3. When words, visions and thoughts say one thing but mean something else, we get trapped in the chaos of our mind. When it becomes constant, we tend to lose sight of ourselves and our place in the world. It’s been said that the silence of our heart is the only place to find peace. Perhaps here is where our answers lie. Thank you for writing such a thought provoking piece πŸ™

    • Thank you so much, Linda for your very insightful comment πŸ™ it means a lot to me. We do often get so trapped in our thoughts and caught up and sometimes the answer is right in front of us, others not. I do think peace provides us with many answers 😊 so appreciated
