Relaxation is Key…

Daily writing prompt
How do you relax?

By not working. πŸ˜‚

Veggin’

Seriously though.

My free time is sacred, that is most relaxing to me. I can do whatever I want, and am not bound by any constraints.

Oh, you want a more concrete answer?

Ughhh…fine!

Working out

Gym rat status? I wish πŸ’ͺ

The work out itself is energizing but you feel amazing afterwards and your muscles are just that β€œgood tired.” Love that feeling. I crave a consistent work out routine.

Sleeping

A deep and restful sleep

I mean, duh!

Reading

Always good reading πŸ“–

I don’t get as much time to read a book before bed as I’d like to, but you gotta admit, that’s a pretty relaxing activity. Who hasn’t fallen asleep while reading?

Meditation

This depends. Sometimes can border on annoying if you focus too hard on shutting out the thoughts.

Music

It can be energizing sure, but it also can be relaxing.

Nature

Give me trees, please 🌳

Deep breath in. Exhale out.

Sky

Were you not expecting one of these?

Moon

There’s something peaceful about gazing at it and feeling the light illuminate your surroundings.

Rain

Man. Rain will put me to sleep. HARD.

I could keep going, maybe. There’s tons of ways to zone out and relax. I just never get enough time to enjoy them.

Happy Friday is here!

  1. And did you feel sleepy affer writing this relaxing post? Because I was certainly feeling relaxed just reading. 😊

Yes. Meditation can be annoying if trying too hard. For me, sometimes hearing that word can be annoying.

I hope since these two jobs you are in, that it gives you a little more sacred time than before.

    • I so did! Actually, I wrote this before bed and I was so so exhausted afterwards I passed right out lol πŸ˜† you might be onto something!

Meditation can definitely be annoying! Ugh. But I think of the time in between sleep and awake as a β€œmeditative” state of sorts and it feels so good sometimes

And thank you. 😊 I so do hope so too. A little chaotic with the training but hopefully settles down soon 🀞 so appreciated always and I hope you’re having a good day!

  2. Working out tops that list for me … closely followed by reading.
Until last year, I’d be a t Circuit sessions twice a week, and ‘ordinary’ gym sessions another twice, with a couple tennis matches also thrown into the week.
The Circuits were properly intense. Really pushing it! Friends just couldn’t understand how I or the few others could possibly enjoy this.

But I / we did. I grew up in the days when our athletics training was brutal. Push till sick, type brutal. I loved it.

With exercise, even a lot less full-on, you switch off from the world.. And the feeling after is so self satisfying. Plus, when the lactic acid settles … you sleep like a log. πŸ™‚

    • Nice! Thanks for sharing Cee Tee, I want to get back into working out more because it honestly promotes such good sleep, especially on a routine. That tiredness you feel is like no other. The circuits you did sound interesting! You totally do sleep like a log, πŸͺ΅ now doubt lol πŸ˜‚ I’m getting tired just thinking of it 😴

    • Naps are sacred, yes. Perhaps with a bit of a hiking weather to go along with it beforehand! Or after, depends on when you like to do your hikes πŸ€ͺ

      • Swimming has a very different set of effects on the body than have any other exercises, with dance coming in second on those. Women sometimes choose to have their babies underwater for these effects, and in my case even taking a bath mid-labor had profound effects on how it progressed.
