Daily writing prompt
If you had to give up one word that you use regularly, what would it be?

We all do it…

Or –

We all know someone who does it.

We all make a vow to stop doing it.

But we still do it, haha. πŸ˜†

Omg, I had to use this image solely for the phone alone πŸ˜†

At least, I know I do.

I hear myself talk or send a voice message to someone and I swearrr I count how many times I say β€œlike” as I’m describing something and I cringe.

However, I’m not re-doing the voice message (and how many of you hate the sound of your voice on recordings?!) 🀣

I don’t even think I do it as bad as some people πŸ˜‡

Oh well, a work in progress, am I right?

Thursday is upon us – I hope your week has been going well! Hopefully we’ll catch up more soon RE: life and jobs! 😊

  1. Voices are the treasure that people give you, even those who are greedy. What death cannot capture, nor a recording machine. For a voice is not only breath, words or even silence. A voice is the whole world painted by the person.
Answering machine is not so bad …😊

  2. I didn’t realize how much I used the word β€œlike” until a college professor banned the word from her classroom, stating that it was overused. This method actually helped, and I stopped using β€œlike” for years, but I’ve noticed I’ve gotten back into the habit 😫

By the way, this is my first time commenting on a post, and I accidentally posted this comment in the wrong spot earlierβ€”sorry about that!

    • That’s ok! No worries 😊 we have that learning curve with blogging πŸ™ appreciate your comment, and your college professor is pretty smart. It’s hard not to take up the habit when describing something!

  3. it’s gotten to a point now where i expect the word “like” in casual conversation. and if i sense someone hasn’t gone without it I start wondering if they are one of those enlightened-but-dangerously-powerful reptilian overlords those youtube conspiracy videos keep talking about πŸ˜‚

have a great day Laura and keep up the work in progress πŸ™‚ Mike

  4. My daughter uses the word “like” so many times a day. lol. For me – I’m a “no” user. Sometimes, I just find myself saying no for NO reason lmao
