What is a word you feel that too many people use?

But the ones with all the blinding lights and red flags at the very tippy-top?

Unfortunately, sometimes we ignore the red flags, don’t we?

And the winner is:

Drumroll please… 🥁

Narcissist. 🚩

And conversely:

Empath. 🚩

*shudders*

There’s more I could list but I’m sure I’ve already ruffled a few feathers! Don’t take it personally, it’s just my opinion, and like certain body parts, we all have them.

Now go have a coffee and enjoy your day! ☕️

Don’t get me wrong, there are some points in time where there’s no better description but the use of said words above.

  2. It would seem that those words were on everyone’s word of the day toilet paper roll. Hear them being thrown around with abandon almost to Ad nauseam. Great post and observation.

    • Thank you! I see lots of “gaslighting” too which is also a great choice. For sure, these psychological terms are way overused by any and all who read just a little bit of psychology it seems lol 😂 thanks for your comment!

    • It can definitely be overused in so many of ways, that’s for sure. I consider myself a “spiritual” person, but people throw it around and oftentimes when you speak of “spirituality” people definitely cringe thinking of all the things that go along with it, a saying I absolutely abhor “love and light” included with it as it’s often said with no feeling behind it at all.

      Sorry, a tad bit of rant there lol 😂

    • Thank you! 🙏 yes, it’s not used probably as much per se, but when you hear it often I find it’s overused and not in the correct way at all.

  13. Yup, with you. I’ve known lovely people who consider themselves empaths, but it’s also a term that I’ve known some to use as though it made them incapable of being wrong or moody. 🙂

    • Absolutely true! And of course there’s the “real” meaning of empath, which is often vastly overlooked or used in the wrong context, but I’ve found it’s too much of a “be nice to me because I feel everything so deeply!” Or as you stated so perfectly, “I’m never wrong about anything or anyone.” Very frustrating in a lot of ways. 😫

    • You had a great one too with gaslighting. A lot of people don’t understand what the term means or if they simply don’t like something someone says they are being “gaslit” by a “narcissist” 🙄 anyways I know I don’t have to tell you that, you already know how absurd it is lol 😆

      • Lmao omg 😂 I alllllmooosssttt listed this other one on the post but I didn’t wanna offend anyone, but I feel it’s wayyy overused and I loathe the way it sounds – “poignant” ugh 🥴 blah!! It reminds me of “moist” haha 🤣

  17. It’s not even the overuse that annoys me, what bugs me is that people call everyone they don’t like a narcissist without truly knowing what narcissist means. It’s the misuse that’s annoys me.
