Lunar Escapades

Full Moon, June 2024

The full moon is upon us.
There is anarchy in the streets.
Can you feel it’s power?
It makes me dream while I’m asleep.
With its heightened energies, chaos is afoot.
Instead of going out,
I think I’ll just stay put.
Play it safe and sound,
There are other nights to run around.
However, one thing that I always make time to do
Is take a photo of the enigmatic moon,
glowing brightly through.
Clear Sky or clouds,
her presence is truly fascinating.
Her guiding light is always there,
a force forever captivating.

  1. That’s nice. Really nice. I love the RRRRRR, in thee opening, but then you quiet it, lock it out, but still manage to re-enter it on your own terms, for that one constant, changing, but constant element.

I love this. Clever, elegantβ€”your week off is suiting you. I hope you’ve shrugged that cold of yours.

      • YWβ€”I really liked this one. I’ve seen similar themes used in much longer poems before, but without the clarity or precision. I mean, we take away from a text as much as we bring to itβ€”and you have to give a little appreciation to it if you want it to talk to you. It doesn’t always happenβ€”but this one screamed.

        Thank you for sharing!

      • Thanks for that 😊 there was a certain amount of words that needed to be used for this specific piece but maybe I should keep it that short all the time lol…thanks again for your very kind and encouraging words! 😊

  2. Beautiful writing. I especially liked “Anarchy on the streets”.

Reminds me of a Saturday night on Italy’s streets where “anything goes”: cars, motorbikes, cyclists, pedestrians, you name it are just doing whatever to get from A to B πŸ˜‚

And LOL we have chaos here in Fort Lauderdale rampant in the streets…I can’t even begin to imagine what Italy is like my god πŸ˜‚ haha I’m sure it’s a free-for-all in some ways

  3. Chaos is not bad, as long as it’s a controlled one πŸ˜‰

Yes, the motorcycles pass you by at horrendous speed from all sides 😊 Strangely enough, you get used to it and it has to be said, they’re excellent at riding their motorbikes πŸ‘

Having said that you get used to a lot in Italy 🀣 I’m sure it’s more refined in Florida. I’ve been to Fort Lauderdale once, a long time ago, I had a good time, as so often in the US.

Can’t explain it, but it always felt like home when I visited the US.

    • Aww that’s nice to know! 😊 It’s been my home for 35 years, LOL…I was born here. And indeed, in some ways it does have a “home” vibe, even if I moved away to (which I’d love to move to a colder, more mountainous, or easier accessible to mountains) another location, I’d probably still try to keep some form of home here to visit.
And no doubt haha, I’m sure they are quite good at riding their motorbikes! πŸ˜† Of course, it’s something one would need to get accustomed to. I’ve walked into some interesting streets with blaring horns in other countries so I wouldn’t be too surprised, maybe? LOL 🀣
And indeed, chaos is not always a bad thing! You are right lol πŸ˜‚ Sometimes we just need to embrace it

      • Embrace the chaos πŸ‘ Now that is a nice thought Laura ✨ I love the mountains, living in northern Italy has its perks, lakes (water) and the mountains due to being close to Switzerland, which I like so much, because of untouched nature.

      • Ahhh that’s sounds so gorgeous! πŸ”οΈ Enjoy that crisp mountain air if you get a chance for me please! ☺️
I’ll definitely be taking a swim in the lake!! I did go to the beach early this AM and got a bit of that sea salt air to breathe in and it was pretty nice 🌊

And thank you 😊 I think we’re about the same cause it’s 93 degrees Fahrenheit here and with that conversion it looks to be about 34 😭

      • Right. It’s not good for us, but my dog, he’s 14 and schlepping himself in this brutal heat. Can do walkies only in the morning and late in the evening 😎

      • He is, high strung, stubborn, but cute as hell. Everybody loves him in the neighborhood.

Unfortunately he’s disabled since January, his hind legs don’t work properly anymore.

So I have a support leash just for his hind legs. Since people saw this, there’s been a wave of support and love coming his way. Quite touching, and he’s still in good spirits.

Sorry to hear about his disability 😒 poor baby. πŸ₯Ί That’s good he’s in good spirits, they really can handle so much without much fuss, unlike us humans at times! Lol πŸ˜‚

  4. and your words flow beautifully to a stunning capture, Laura…
Somehow difficult to explain at times the allure of such…like the moon and nights and skies…but I think those that are captivated by it…they understand 🀍✨
