Hello everyone, Wednesday is upon us once again and I hope your mid-week finds you well.

Welcome back to the World of Dreams, where dreamers can discuss their own dreaming experiences and analyze dreams as they relate to our subconscious mind, spiritually, and the valuable insight they can give us towards our daily, waking lives. Feel free to share whatever you’re comfortable with!

I would like to start by thanking Chris and Stephanie once again for their detailed dream posts, and I wrote my own last night.
Without further ado, letβs breakdown some of the concepts and themes we experienced while dreaming this week!
It seems many of us have searching or exploring dreams as a common theme. In search of something, looking for something. That something has yet to be revealed to us.

A few mentioned last night in my dream post that some of the aspects in my dream may mean transformation, in fact one that I may not be ready for. This resonates highly with me as Iβve been going back and forth for some time about a career change. Itβs hard to imagine for me, but Iβm sure you all know how much stress it has induced in me in the recent months – so this is a very apt interpretation.

Indeed I do believe people who have many dreams stemming around such a topic are often looking towards more fulfillment in life in general. Seems to be a common theme (for lack of a better term) β¦we know thereβs greatness out there that weβre destined for more, itβs finding out what the βmoreβ is.

Stephanie mentions in her dream about the houses sheβs going through having many different rooms, like a maze – and in fact Chris mentions in his post a maze-like dream scenario as well. I had the door in my dream post, so I do feel there are things behind the door, rooms, and mazes, so to speak, that perhaps we havenβt ventured through yet. A maze could be a bit of confusion about direction as well, and sometimes when we have many options, weβre left directionless, unsure which choice to make.

This topic may be a bit too heavy, and in fact Iβm thinking of introducing at a later time – but Chris mentioned in his post and I know Iβve had my fair share of dreams playing out healing trauma. Sometimes to the point where there are nightmares with repeating cycles over and over again. This is a healing aspect of dreams that finally allows our subconscious to do the (very necessary) work of finally resolving old traumas.

I think a lot of people can resonate with this in one way or another – even through their writing and creative processes. If that is stifled, so is the trauma. It often allows us to explore the depths of our mind in order to heal. Another term people may be familiar with is shadow work – integrating our shadow self with our conscious and subconscious being, which is a fine balance of not allowing it to take over. (Also, shadow work is often ongoing, as is self-love, that never stops).

Oftentimes as well, I may have a good or bad dream and it can really set my mood for the day or night (depending on when I wake up). Does this happen to you? Do you have for instance, maybe a nightmare or a dream that is very, very positive, and it puts you in a specific mood? This happens a lot for me.

This post is becoming long, Iβm sure certainly we could discuss dreams for hours.
With that, Iβll will end it here. π
So, what experiences would you like to share?
Do you feel dreams help you heal?
Have you had recent dream experiences youβd like to share where you feel as though youβre coming up on a transformation?
What about searching for something in dreams?
Do you feel dreams help boost your creativity?
Do you wake up sometimes from dreams and it affects your mood throughout the day?
***Thinking of making a dedicated blog for dream discussions only – what do you all think?
It would be access only to those who are actually interested in actively participating in discussion, as not everyone always wants to read about dreams or spiritual experiences. This also would make it so it could be more private for others who take it seriously and donβt want all of their business in the comments.
Thank you as always for your support and participation – it means everything to me!
If youβd like to write your own post for next weekβs discussion, please feel free to do so. Share whatever you feel comfortable with, and then ping me back and Iβll include a theme from yours! π

I’d be interesting in an offshoot dream blog. I don’t know how much I can contribute, but I’m willing to slip in a few stories or thoughts in here and there. It requires a bit of a background info dump to better understand.
My notable dreams of late are about centered around someone I’ll call Ravenna. That’s not her name, and I couldn’t tell you anyway because a name has never been given to me (although I have a name I use at times that is different but misleading to use in public). They are nothing new and I’ve been having variations on the theme for over thirty years.
She shows me things she thinks I need to see, we have long conversations that might be frustrating to have with anyone else because most of the answers seem to be nonanswers (e.g., Q: “How are you doing today?”, A: “Yes.”) and I am at peace when we are in dreams together — even when the dreams themselves are troubled. Sometimes she tells me what I should do and, of course, I follow her direction because it is almost always the correct path.
Last night our conversation was under a stone bridge by the Mississippi River in Saint Paul, MN (I don’t know if it is there IRL). I slipped into the water and we had to go dry me off in one of the office buildings nearby. She told me that she would find me later as I did so and, as I was about to leave, a nondescript coworker tried to get me to talk more about my former coach, now turned President of my company — trying to get some dirt on him, wanting me to talk to him on their behalf. Someone else interrupted to ask where my “friend” had gone off to. I shrugged. “I dunno. But we always seem to find each other, so I’m not worried.” I thought she might be back under the bridge, but woke up before I could get back to it.

Sorry it took me a minute to reply, been feeling a bit under the weatherβ¦
Ok cool so Iβll consider the offshoot blog. Thanks for your thoughts π
And your contribution is always helpful and welcome!
Background dump is fine of course!
Interesting! She sounds like a guide of some sort, especially if youβve been having dreams with her in them for this long! Thanks for sharing that.
Sounds very interesting that she gives you advice and that you can talk in that manner, pretty cool connection Iβd say π

You take care of you. I can always wait for a response when you feel more up to it and we were forewarned that you weren’t feeling up to snuff last night (or did I dream that? Kinda tired tonight).

She didn’t speak for the first couple of years. I was surprised when she started to (more than one or two words) in these dreams of mine.
She’s a guide to some degree… Not sure if she serves a greater function or not. I suspect she does… eventually.

Yeah, I have a flu or something! Haha π not a dream, I donβt think, although my brain has been quite hazy the last few days.
Interesting! Thatβs such an exciting concept, definitely would love to hear more at some point, of course with whatever youβd like to share π

1,6,8,9,and 10 are fabulous pictures. Dreams intrigue me when I can remember them but most of the time just after waking they float away before I can put them into perspective. This is a great topic and I look forward to seeing more.

Amazing pictures!
Sometimes we have bad dreams, and sometimes very good ones. Occasionally, you dream about someone, and then they show up or call you, which feels unbelievable. I think what happens in the subconscious mind appears in our dreams.

Thanks Daisy! And I appreciate you sharing your thoughts. And thatβs very true, you can dream about or think of someone and then all of a sudden they pop up. Itβs like their energy is drawn to you in some ways and then it manifests in real life. Pretty cool!

Fabulous post Laura and thank you again for the mention π
Dreams are a necessary release or vent, without it and without sleep we would go insane.
I read once that there was a scientific experiment with a group of people preventing them from sleep no matter what. Some broke down after 1 to 2 days, others collapsed after 3 to 4 days, and a few made it to 5 days.
All of them were in a terrible state of mind. In the end the subjects had only one single obsession: sleep. So we need sleep AND dreams to keep our body and mind safe and sane.
What you spoke about are central themes, mazes, looking for things or someone, looking for something more or even running away from threats (I had all of those for years). Feeling directionless, need for metamorphosis or change in our lifestyle.
The processing of trauma through dreams is a very delicate subject. And I understand that not everyone wants to hear or talk about trauma in daily life, especially in a public forum.
I have no issue talking or discussing about trauma and how dreams can help pushing you in a positive direction to resolve the trauma in question. Maybe this would be better in a more private setting, subject to discussion of course, if people are interested or not.
You asked, if dreams can set a special mood for the day depending on the nature of the dream. In my case, I would say no, it’s “only ” a dream even if remembered in detail, doesn’t influence my mood in any fashion. Think of it like a Chinese Wall, dream stays behind the wall.
Take care π

And thank you Chris for sharing your dreams! π
And yes I do believe they are necessary for us to function, I know sleep is! (Can never get enough lol)
Thanks for sharing the information on sleep deprivation and the study, thatβs very interesting information. And I can imagine super unpleasant!
I feel like a lot of us have those βcentral themesβ in our dreams and even waking lives tooβ¦wondering βis there more?β And βam I on the right path?β So not unusual at all I think, right?
Indeed I do believe as you do that trauma is delicate too and something that would need to be delved into very gently and only if people want to. Thatβs why I also had maybe suggested private, I have no issue speaking about such either but I know others could most definitely. So thank you for that and itβs something Iβll consider π
And Iβm the opposite, a dream can set my mood or tone for the day if itβs a particularly disturbing one- but I am getting better at letting that go. π
And you take care too and happy dreaming!
Sorry it took me a minute to reply, a bit under the weather lol

I believe that people may assist, but only we know the full meaning of our dreams because only we know our full history. Dreams set the tone of the day, because if they are to help us, we continue to ponder them. I find this all fascinating.

Thanks Mary! I agree with you there, I do like that people can share different aspects and what it means to them. I find dreaming and the power of the mind very fascinating too. π and I agree with you, it often makes me feel a certain way when I wake up from a certain dream as Iβm usually spending some time thinking about what it meant

The transformative dream image is AMAZING. All the images are, but that one is a wow for me. π I should try to draw the globe mansion.. it was so futuristic, but I’d move into this one in a heartbeat.
Man, there’s so much in this fantastic post that I want to respond to, but will choose just a few things for now. As for a separate dream blog, my feeling is ‘Whither thou goest, I will follow!’ π
Healing trauma dreams – Like Chris I have no issue talking about these kinds of dreams and have a major dream in this category, by which I mean that it’s probably in the top 5 most important dreams, or rather series of dreams, I’ve ever had. It’s something else I wrote about, but maybe before daily prompts.
I wish I’d been better about categories! Will try to write about it soon.
This week’s dream was a travel dream. I’m packing a suitcase for a last minute trip, only able to get the ticket from a woman on the phone who buys it in both of our names. The plane leaves at seven and it’s already six, and I’m packing business clothes, but don’t want to wear the shoes I usually wear. None of the other shoes are a sure thing to work well with everything, though (LOL we had a conversation about packing and shoes). My (estranged) mother’s there with me, and I start to ask her if she’ll take me to the airport, but realize she won’t, so instead start calculating how long it will take by Lyft. My mother and I don’t feel estranged in the dream, but not close either, no real emotion.
Still thinking about your door and key. Maybe you have the key but have hidden it from yourself for a while to tie up loose ends. π

Thank you! I do like that one as well and Iβm glad that came up as a theme honestly because I wasnβt thinking of it at all. I was thinking compartments, another realm, doorway to something elseβ¦so thatβs very interesting! Iβm still thinking of it too.
Haha, I know thatβs not quite how the snow-globe mansion isβ¦would love to see you attempt a drawing of it! It does indeed look pretty amazing.
Glad to know you are ok with the healing trauma dreamsβ¦ I know thatβs very much a sensitive subject for many and not everyone is ready for that, and I definitely want to hear about your experience!
Interesting dream you had about traveling. If I dream about my mother at all itβs usually still very volatile. Sounds like yours may be softened a bit? Or perhaps it is how it appears.
Funny how shoes came up in your dream lol π what did you think the dream meant?
Iβm thinking the key may be metaphorical too. βTie up loose endsβ may be a great way to put itβ¦

Hm, re my mother, it’s hard to say, although perhaps with time there is less of an edge. I still wake occasionally arguing or crying, but the times between are getting longer.
There’s also another version of my mother in dreams, a version ‘as if’. I even went to the grave of my grandfather with she and my sister to mourn him together, although that’s far from what happened in actuality when he died. The dream was complete wish-fulfillment and felt like it really happened, as though I was included and wanted and we were a functional, if not fully-functional family. I’m very thankful to have had that experience and try to think of it as the more real one somehow.

Ohhh, I understand, almost like a way of releasing it somehow. I understand also the βother versionβ showing up sometimes in dreams. I always feel pretty off when mine shows up too, so sorry you feel bad about it still β€οΈβπ©Ή I think it becomes less overtime for me too but still knowing I canβt really ever have a normal relationship with that person really does hurt.
I believe the dream sounds so real, and sometimes thatβs why itβs best if itβs our alternate reality. Our brain can play it out and in some manner say βthis is what I really wanted to happenβ

Very well said. It’s often some kind of validation so as not to carry unearned blame.
Even when the neutral version shows up, there’s still the processing of the dream and facing the reality, when one wakes. It’s actually amazing that our psyches don’t let us suppress the healing that of course, takes a long time with such a fundamental relationship. I’m sorry, too.

I donβt think itβs ever one that can be fully repaired, mended maybe, with some fragmentsβ¦but as you said, itβs a fundamental relationship and then time is lost of course. Time does heal, butβ¦
And yes it takes ages

It would be more worrisome if it wasn’t hard to contend with. I figure the pain is an indicator of a still alive heart.

Oh yes, similar experiences and universal themes. Sleep, and therefore dreams are a significant part of our lives and yet there is great mystery. That’s fine by us! You’ve reinvigorated my interest in the subject and focus on my dream journal. β¨ππ»
