Gratitude’s Blessing

Daily writing prompt
How do you express your gratitude?
Always grateful for a moment of silence among the stars, the sky, and the moon.

I think people often take things for granted.

Most people don’t see how good they truly have it.

Are there hardships in life? Yes, absolutely.

I’ve been through them. You’ve been through them.

But if you’re alive, breathing, with a roof over your head, a bed to sleep in, with a healthy body, food to eat, have a stable income, people around you who care about you, then you’re probably doing pretty well, I’d say.

If you have an internet connection and you’re reading this, you’re probably doing OK.

The magic of gratitude – sometimes it’s hard to conjure up when we’re down, but it’s important to keep things in perspective

People whine and moan daily about trivial things while never realizing how good their life really is.

Sometimes I also feel like people like to create their own problems, almost like they can’t help themselves.

It’s not to say we don’t have bad days. We all do. I’ve wanted to crawl back in my bed and forget the world more times than I can count.

But getting caught up in self-pity cycles is never the way forward.

Anyways, I digress.

I’m a big believer in gratitude, as I’ve said many times on here before, almost ad nauseam. I try to write down the things I’m grateful for and show the people I’m blessed to spend my time around how grateful I am for them.

Writing it down, but also making gratitude a part of your life by living it and showing it

I believe what you put out comes back to you tenfold, especially if you are vibrating through the emotions of love and appreciation.

Consequently, if you vibrate through fear, anxiety, hurt, anger, and allow it to stew in your heart, never releasing it – it engulfs you.

That’s why love and appreciation is so important.

Love, for those around you, who interact with you daily, who even may get on your nerves at times but still have your best interest at heart. Who care. Who actually give a damn and don’t just tell you what you want to hear.

Appreciation, for the blessings, for the gifts, for the hard work, for the trials and tribulations, the victories and triumphs (whatever you’d like to call it), that’s gotten you to this point today, who you are as a person, whatever exchange of light it is you offer to those around you.

Your essence. Your true self.

No one else can be you.

And you can’t be someone else.

For that, I am ever-grateful.

  1. Very well said every day I try to come up with like 10 things I’m grateful for and I also have a gratitude generator that shoots stuff to me on my iPhone too.

Your posts are always so uplifting and positive as you thank you for being you. 😊

  2. I love so much about this post! Yes, indeed. We’re human and it’s natural to not see the forest for the trees when we’re tired or a particularly hard struggle comes our way, but we need to draw upon our resources to see the forest and remember that struggle isn’t all there is, that life is more varied and larger than the challenges. We’re not just a bundle of problems to solve, after all!

    • Oh, definitely. There’s an acknowledgment there that “this too shall pass” and I’ve definitely gotten stuck in my own feeling like crap, as we have all. But I think also if I keep moving forward, (because what else can I do?) then it produces better results than wallowing in negativity. Plus, time is short, and I don’t wanna look back on “I spent so much time upset/sad/in fear of the unknown” when things weren’t even that bad.
I agree, not just the problems! The whole picture! 😊
