Time’s Up!

This is a submission for Kevin’s No Theme Thursday.

Image by Kevin from The Beginning at Last

Upon the hourglass, your time, it fades

Retribution paid, for all the mistakes you’ve made

Karma comes your way, freeing all you’ve harmed

Souls you knowingly reaped, all unarmed

All for ruin, you’ve played your filthy games

Who’s the bitch now? I hope you feel ashamed

Your days were always numbered, nothing set in stone

Now you’ll have to face your untimely fate alone

Scars you’ve placed upon others’ throats

As the sands of time descend, I hope you fucking choke

Took advantage of others, all of your own free will

And yet, now in your final hour, time doesn’t stand still

I hope you feel scared, I hope you feel pain

What you’ve inflicted on others, all in vain

Manipulate me, with the lies you’ve told

No sympathy for you, as your misdeeds unfold

A forced connection, you tried to seal my fate

And now for you, the only emotion I feel is hate

So fuck your feelings, as your world turns to black

Something’s aren’t meant to be, I don’t want you back

Hey everybody! I did a rage-fueled workout today and I’m just purging old emotions from years long gone! No worries for my sanity or feelings, ok? 🤣

It feels amazing to get it out.

Thanks for reading!

  2. Karma, time, retribution… I see Full Moon in Capricorn influenced you deeply as well!
That’s good, let these emotions out, art is a perfect vent for it! I’m by your side!
The poem itself is intense and powerful ❤

  3. beautifully said! and what’s sad is that there are people in this world that inflict the type of pain that can turn a peaceful person’s mood into this type of pain. hope you’re enjoying the weekend! Mike

    • Thanks so much Mike! 😊 I really appreciate your comment! I hope you are enjoying your weekend too and yes unfortunately there are many people in this world who can interfere with our peace. The key is to not let them, easier said than done when you sometimes let people in. Thankfully, I have found my peace.
      🙏 thanks again.

      • Your welcome, I like arts. You have clearly realized what is the purpose of the art and where is its oasis.. conveying one’s innermost self with art is one of them. You are more clever than you think, though I think you know it:) Dream on!

      • Thank you 😊 art is amazing and I love to connect with it in many ways, as I believe we all do, if we can. Haha, and I appreciate that! I try to keep my bit of cleverness humble, with much gratitude. 🙏
And yes, I will certainly be dreaming! Lol 😆 thanks again

  4. Oh man!! Good for you getting this out, writing the rage as directly as you have. I can’t do this. The second I express pure rage I start walking it back and taking it back in, turning it onto myself, shamed for not being ‘good’, I guess. This is what art’s for, right? Well done, you, and I’m glad that (reading the comments) it was indeed liberating to write!

    • Thanks! 😊 it felt much better, but I absolutely understand where you’re coming from, as well. It can put you back there, instead of releasing. I think it’s the working out that pushed me over the edge (and maybe the angry music helped a little!) lol 😆
