In Dreams

Daily writing prompt
How do you waste the most time every day?

And simultaneously, never getting enough sleep.

Sleep is important for our sanity, after all.

How I love to lay down for a nap, or a full nightโ€™s rest ahead of me, with deeply healing sleep – only to be accosted by multiple and many prolific dreams.

Once I accepted this was never going to change, and in fact – Iโ€™ve always been a vivid dreamer, I sought only to enhance my experience, as gaining control over your dream and sleep state only leads to a greater โ€œawakening.โ€

Haha, interesting choice of words there, as I read it back.

However, there is a caveat. Some of you here are well acquainted with the fact that my sleep schedule leaves much to be desired. If Iโ€™m working 72 hours in 6 days, Iโ€™m certainly not getting enough and Iโ€™m certainly not remembering any dreams – good, bad, ugly, insightful, whatever.

So whatever message theyโ€™re sending meโ€ฆmay come out in my writing, or it may not.

In fact, it may be forgotten all-together.

Our subconscious mind is quite strong, however.

I really do need get back to dream work.

It takes effort and ability sometimes, nothing worth actually working toward ever comes easily.

Ahh, yes. A full time job sometimes does indeed ruin a real good spiritual awakening. In our mundane lives, we must attend to.

Passing out after a 12 (more like 14) hour day

I could also say I waste a good amount of time at work LOL but we need to do that to live.

Some of us are just that lucky.

Happy Weekend!

Getting some much needed rest over here.

  1. When I was moving rooms I unearthed about ten dream journals. I may have burned all my regular journals from my younger life, but I’m going to start looking through these.

    • Oh wow!! I would love to take a peek at those ๐Ÿ˜† thatโ€™s gotta be amazing.
I have stuff written everywhere, in the journal, scrawled by the bedside, in the notes app on the phone lmao ๐Ÿคฃ
Thank you again โค๏ธ Iโ€™m gonna start working more at it, since it only benefits me. I just feel like when weโ€™re so exhausted, the brain is just on โ€œsleepโ€ and thatโ€™s it. When Iโ€™m more relaxed, I remember so much more ๐Ÿ˜Š

  2. Oh, and I remembered my dreams the most when I would talk about them with friends. It’s always tricky because one doesn’t want to feel like they’re getting out the home movies, but it does help to be constantly intentional. ๐Ÿ™‚ For the record, I always want to hear dreams!

    • Awesome! Thank you for this, I was actually thinking of maybe doing a once a week post on some of the dreams Iโ€™ve had – so maybe thatโ€™s the confirmation I need! (I just never know if others are interested in hearing) lol and yes youโ€™re absolutely right, if youโ€™re trying to be conscious of them and youโ€™re speaking about them to others, it certainly jogs the memory! ๐Ÿ˜Š

  3. It is wonderful way of “wasting” your time! โค Not every dream needs to be controlled to be meaningful, moreover lucid dreaming doesn't work well with everyone in my opinion. You could be a prophetic dreamer type โค
Sleep well, you work so hard, you need to replenish your energy as much as you can โค

    • Thank you ๐Ÿ˜Š I certainly do appreciate your kind words and support โค๏ธ it is hard often to find others who understand. I do think lucid dreaming does lend to some great experiences, but Iโ€™ve also had some prophetic dreams (which I didnโ€™t know were prophetic at the time) so thatโ€™s a bit hard. Haha! And definitely will be catching up on sleep as much as I can! โค๏ธ

  4. Insightful post. We’ll, it’s not only the length of our sleep but the quality sleep which is important. Also not everyone needs 10 hours of sleep to feel rested. Some are fine with 6 -7 hours or even way less.

Why don’t you start a series about dreams? The meaning and the influence on our lives. I remember every single dream, some are very vivid, some reoccurring dreams, scary ones, weird ones, the list goes on. Great influence on my life. Some dreams helped me to make life changing decisions.

It’s an interesting topic for everyone ๐Ÿ˜‰ Have a great day ๐Ÿ™

    • Wow, thanks so much Chris! ๐Ÿ˜Š
Iโ€™m in awe that you remember every dream, I used to as well until I started working more stressful jobs. I agree, they send us so many messages and Iโ€™ve written so many posts inspired by them, and would absolutely love to hear more from you, too! Itโ€™s great to know dreams really do affect others in such a positive way.
The more Iโ€™ve been thinking of it, the more Iโ€™m definitely wanting to and yours and Stephanieโ€™s encouragement sure does help, so I highly appreciate that! ๐Ÿ™
And yes, thereโ€™s such a vast array of information out there, and Iโ€™ve been known to have a prophetic dream a time or two (Iโ€™m sure you have as well) so those always highly fascinate me.
I agree the quality of sleep does matter. My sleep has always been a bit โ€œoffโ€ but itโ€™s getting worse so hopefully focusing a bit more energy towards correcting it in ways will help.
      Thanks again! ๐Ÿ˜Š

      • You’re welcome Laura ๐Ÿ™ Dreams are such an important topic. I wonder why people don’t analyse them more thoroughly (some do).

Yes, I had one prophetic dream, quite intense one as a teenager. I dreamt about an accident and two days later it happened exactly in the same fashion as described in the dream. Spooky.

Anyway, I’m glad to have encouraged you ๐ŸŒž๐Ÿ‘Œ

      • Oh wow! That really does sound intense! And scary ๐Ÿ˜จ Thank you so much for sharing, well appreciated. ๐Ÿ™ I often have them about accidents as well (and visions too) and about illness and death which I can never tell if theyโ€™re telling me โ€œhey you could change thisโ€ or โ€œhey this is happening no matter what regardless.โ€ Itโ€™s really such an interesting concept and youโ€™re rightโ€ฆmore people should analyze them (I could spend way too much time) ๐Ÿ˜†
And indeed you did, thanks again! ๐Ÿ™

  5. Interesting thoughts about dreaming, resting, and living. Dreaming is a topic of great interest to me and one I have written about based on my active dreams. Would be a dynamic discussion! Thanks, Laura. โœจ

      • You’re welcome, thank you for your interest. I will search for one of those older posts later today. I don’t want to clutter up your comments with my link. Would you like it shared here or elsewhere? ๐Ÿฉท

      • Oh, itโ€™s no problem at all! You most certainly can post it here, and thank you! I do plan on making a post sooner rather than later and hopefully itโ€™ll be a good discussion for many ๐Ÿ˜Š thanks so much again and I look forward to reading! ๐Ÿ’œ

      • Generous of you, thank you! I will look for it later today. It has been a while, but I remember one of the reasons I shared a bit about my (sleeping) dream life was to connect with others similarly interested in dreams, and here we are! ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป

      • Yes! Me too! Itโ€™s hard sometimes to find others who are into discussing or think dreams lend any kind of weight to our waking lives, and in this post alone it seems Iโ€™ve found quite a few so that always makes me so happy! ๐Ÿ˜Š

  7. Dreams ? I think I had those some time ago ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚. For the past few years, my sleep has been maybe a max of 3 hours.

With all the aches and pains and stress and worries, tossing and turning in bed is my only way and means of rest.

    Well anywhoo..

    Great Post as always.

    Peace, Love and Dream Weavers

    • Thanks for that! But Iโ€™m so sorry to hear that your sleep is so little! I struggle with getting a lot or hours too. Iโ€™m so sorry you have aches and pains and stress and do hope that they are alleviated some way, somehow. Do appreciate your kind words very much! ๐Ÿ˜Š
