This is a submission for Kevin’s No Theme Thursday.

The path, it eludes me
This trail, one of many
All different, or the same
Where you step, just a game
Coming…or going?
Beginning…or ending?
Does it lead you to where you need to be?
Does it show you what you want to see?
Is the path your fate, or is it free-will
A decision alone to give you chills
Is it a choice or already decided
Perhaps, we have been misguided
Watching every step we make
To know which path our life will take
Maybe you can change it, if you so choose
Perhaps in life, there’s nothing left to lose
Darkness and barren, or beauty in night
Hiking towards the ever-present light

Is our path a choice or is it already decided for us, and we just think it’s a choice?

That was a nice poem 🙂

I think our path is a choice we make based off our beliefs and how our life unfolds, and it can have many twists and turns, even u-turns as different events affect us. My path has changed over time as I learn new things, do new things, and it evolves into a path better suited for me.

I agree with you there! Glad you shared, it’s always nice to hear others perspective on how they view paths in life. I believe we have some choices and I believe we also have some lessons that are only for us to learn in life. We can go towards the light or we can stay shrouded in darkness. Or we can be both, haha. Just depends on the person. 😊

Thanks! I know there are people that think everything in life is planned out for us, but I believe in our free will and that we make choices (good or bad) based on what we decide a d we have the right to change our minds later and do something totally different. Yes, I’ve gone both directions (light and darkness) in my life, but it’s been my choice to do so, sometimes the dark side has more fun 🙃 🤣🤣

I don’t think all aspects are planned, I think we have things we need to learn and our choices therein can alter our paths. And yes, I believe so as well, we can change and do things differently and change the path. And same, the dark can be fun at times LOL 😂🤣

The mysteries of life. What’s real? What’s an illusion? Or is it a bit of both? Nicely stated, Laura 🙏

Wonderful poem, Laura ❤
I think it is both, our life is a path, we have certain predispositions, but we can chose when these predisposed things, versions of fate. The higher our counsciousness, the more choice we have 🙂
Just my opinion 🙂

Some paths we trudge upon sometimes usually elude us greatly based on what we want to see and not what we need to see.
Our perception can often be biased, leading us to focus on the contrary things than necessary. This can be due to a number of factors, including our personal beliefs, experiences, and biases. For example, if we are looking for evidence to support a particular belief, we may be more likely to notice information that confirms that belief, while ignoring information that contradicts it. This can lead us to make decisions that are not in our best interests.
It is important to be aware of our own biases and to make an effort to see things objectively. Seeking out information from a variety of sources, including those that we may disagree with, is a good way to begin with.
This is a wonderful post. Well done, and thank you for sharing it. Peace.
