Give it to me! ❄️

How do you feel about cold weather?

I need it! I live to breathe in crisp, cool air.

How can you not want to take this in, everyday? Yes, please!

If I could have a good chunk of cold weather down here, a real fall, and a bit of snow – I’d be in heaven. I can’t stand the heat, and it seems to be getting worse every….freakin….year.

I love to swim in the ocean, (but I’ll trade it for a mountain lake!) and even sometimes that’s too hot!

I often call Florida the Australia of America, for all its scorching hot weather as well as amazing and scary animals. 😆 (How about them gators?)

Dude, you know Floridians are also cray cray, right? Especially the natives!

AKA – stop moving here! We’re full! Lol

Plus, it’s expensive to live here. I’m not looking forward to my AC being on the fritz constantly, or paying my electric bill in the coming months.

Hopefully eventually I’ll move to a mountainous state, or at least nearer to one.

Another prompt that is annoying, BLAH!

Fall, where the hell are you?

  1. The region I live in is really hot, like 40 degrees celsius, or 104 fahrenheight during the sommer, and last few years we didn’t have a real winter. I remember as a kid, there’d be snow every year, and now we can only see it on photos. 🙂

  2. Australia of America! So so true! We live pretty far from one another in terms of being Florida neighbors. Maybe when we move to the cold we’ll be closer. haha 🙂

  3. I’d willingly swim in the ocean all the time and never step ashore 😀

We have a sea not so far, but it’s cold. And all the lakes are equally freezing.

But I understand, when you go through life fighting with your routine, it’s maddingly irritating when it’s hot.

Good that you have this ocean. And autumns. And winters 🙂

    • Oh, me too! Swimming in the ocean all the time would be where I’d probably feel at home most haha. 😆

Ahhh, so it never gets warm enough to swim in?

Yeah, the heat is too much here sometimes!

      • Doesn’t sunbathing on ice, sound divine (lol)? I will be in an icebox till summer ends! Two seasons teamed up here and have become a giant super bloom summer and I haven’t stopped sneezing, wheezing, and looking a sight!!!

      • Yes! I was just saying up in the comments about how I wanted to dunk my head in cold water! My eyes have been burning and I’ve been sneezing too! Did they let loose some kind of super pollen this year?! Ahhh!

I went to the beach last night to capture some moon photos, but it was warm air out (still nice) but ended up being hot and sticky…ahhh no thank you!
Here’s to hoping we weave some magic to let our allergy symptoms pass soon 🙏 😊

      • The salty ocean air did really open me up, felt much better, healing. Now only for a swim! lol 😆 night time does make it much easier without the sun beating down! With only the moon to light the way! 😊 ❤️

  5. Oh, we’ve got a long way to go till autumn. I too am a winter person, but my wife is a Florida girl. I lived there in my college years (Go Hurricanes) and we met in Orlando. I can only stand it for about a week now. Everything thrives there, especially bugs! And Disney!

Down here in the valley at the foot of the Sierra Nevadas it will soon be in the 90’s, and driving up to Tahoe to paddleboard will be our primary escape for the summer. There are a lot more tourists these days, but we just walk past them and once we’re out on the water we’re free and by ourselves. This week the lake is too cold to paddle on-there’s still a lot of snow runoff. By August the swimming will be fine. Until then we just try not to fall in.

    • Omg, you went to UM?! Awesome! What part of Florida is your wife from? Orlando? That’s so cool. 😊
And yes we have a long way to go 😭
Yes, the bugs are no freakin joke!
I’ve been dying to make it out to Tahoe, it sounds like a dream. Yes, overcrowded, but that’s everywhere. I would give anything to swim there, man! You are lucky. 😊
And yes, please don’t fall in! 🙏 paddle boarding sounds amazing!
Have the best time when you do go! I’m sure even with the snow melting it’s still super magical.

  6. Class of ‘94. Tahoe is incredible. My wife worked at the Hard Rock in Orlando and we were driving through Tahoe on the way to Oregon to see my folks in Portland in ‘98. A sign on one of the casinos said “Coming soon, Hard Rock Cafe.” There was a ski slope you could see from US 50 on one side and Lake Tahoe on the other and we said, “We could live here.” So we did.

Our first duplex was $600 a month. If we tried to move there now I guarantee we would have moved back the Florida within 24 hours. It’s gotten so expensive no working class people can live there anymore. We moved 45 minutes away and got lucky again, bought a house where no one else wanted to live. Now that’s blowing up too. But we have the lake and the mountain. Work sucks but life is good.

I love diving into the lake in summer. If you look down with a mask on it just looks like forever. There’s nothing in there but pure water, 1500 feet deep. It’s like being reborn. Can’t wait to get to that this summer!

    • Omg, I’m a certified diver and now I want to go diving in Tahoe. That sounds otherworldly and magical! New item to add to the list, thank you! 😊
That is an awesome story in and of itself! And the prices here are ridiculous now, as I’m sure they are everywhere! Crowding does absolutely suck, but that also seems to be an everywhere thing. The mountain and lake and peace you find therein absolutely must make up for it all! And what a great story, leading up to and even now.
Work does suck. That’s probably one of the major things holding me back, as it does for us all. But I do agree on the whole, life is good 😊
