When do you feel most productive?
Between the hours of 3AM-5AM, when everything is super quiet and the world is mostly asleep.

The above was going to be the end of this post, honestly. But then I thought a bit deeper and I decided I suppose I could expand on it a little. ๐คช
Besides, itโs a bit better than answering the prompt with what emojis do you like to use? ๐
Iโm someone who often procrastinates. Iโve worked over the years to stop doing this, as it can be pretty detrimental toโฆwell, everything.
An assignment for a class needs to be uploaded at 11:59PM on Sunday night?
Here it is, Sunday at 11:30PM.
No, no. CRAP! Why did I wait so long?
Luckily, Iโm not this bad anymore.
I donโt like things piling up and then it ends up in one big explosion of fire. ๐ฅ (Fire is awesome, but not in this case, lol)
Iโve never been a big planning person, however. Perfectionist in some ways, yes. Planner, no. Unless youโre talking about planning a vacation or a trip. Then Iโm all for that!
I always hate to defer to work, but thereโs something about not planning for that type of field, anyways. You just gotta do what you can do, and then shit might hit the fan anyways. And you gotta be ready. ๐

Back to the hours of 3AM-5AM! ๐
If Iโm not bound by the constrains of work (and yes, I often feel like work is stealing my time), I find these hours are the best to wake up, (or already be up, if youโre so inclined) and do some introspection, meditation, writing, working out, creating. Putting out positive intentions, manifesting, energy work, whatever youโd like to call it. Working on your spiritual practice, mindfulness, practicing gratitude, or even studying for something difficult.
Itโs when the world is so silent, but everything feels absolutely alive to me. Creativity and power really flows through me at this time.
On the other side of the spectrum – I feel less productive overall during afternoon hours. It is when I feel the most sluggish, cloudy-headed, agitated, and just not in the mood to doโฆanything. I feel like if I work out, itโs subpar. Iโm ready for a dang nap!
Perhaps itโs just me?
What, you thought I was going to mention how the veils between worlds are thin at this hour, and this is when I like to do a bit of โฆah hem, lighting candles and evocation?
Nahhhโฆmaybe next time!
P.S. – my favorite emojis are ๐, ๐, ๐, ๐, ๐, ๐คช, ๐, ๐ฅ, โค๏ธ, and letโs just throw in ๐ฉ for the hell of it since it was one I used to use all the time. Oh, and you canโt forget โ๏ธ!
Enjoy your Sunday! I hope itโs a peaceful one!

Laughing so hard, and yes I was waiting for amrit vela! ๐ Excited for work to be finished so I can come back to this!

Haaaaahhhh ๐ am I so predictable?! It really is the best time lol, for all the things. ๐ glad I could make you laugh! And yes, Iโm excited for work to end too, and it hasnโt even started for me yet! Blah! ๐

Not AT ALL! It’s just… I was hoping, but also, it’s sort of in there. ๐
I often wake up between 3 and 4, and want very much to get up and meditate, be creative, but only once in a blue moon does that actually happen. I need to be up 5ish a few days of the week now, so I panic if I’m up, which doesn’t help matters at all.
Definitely relate to the sluggish window!

Oh, I totally get that. If I have to be up early for work, Iโm not getting out of bed to do any of that. Lol ๐ it sounds nice in theory, but sleep always comes first.
The sluggish bit sucks haha, I wish there was a way to banish that feeling forever!

Magnificence with humor = alluring, Laura โค … there’s a fine line between those demons and angels (lol) but no mistaking the most serene and magical hours. I agree by 3 in the afternoon I’m always starving and exhausted … no amount of coffee can do it! ๐

Thank you lovely, yes you are correct thereโs a definite fine line, and some are easier to talk to than others ๐ for sure quite calming and alive, all at once. Yes, the afternoon is quite a draggggg for me as well, lol โค๏ธ

Very neat! Sometimes, the 4AM hour during the day is one of the most peaceful hours you can have in your home, if you happen to be awake. You can do so relaxing things then. You can listen to BBC World Service on your NPR station.

Thatโs very true! I do find it to be quite relaxing. Thank you for your comment! ๐

You should try to listen to the BBC World Service on your NPR station if you are awake in the 3AM hour. Some of the programs are pretty good during that hour.

I like your quote, Laura. In the old days, we would say, “Typists type. Writers look out windows.”

Thank you, Mary! I do think thatโs an important one to observe, to relax and flow and allow what comes. ๐

Very true what you’ve said here! ๐ Some people are naturally night owls and their best creativity comes in the wee small hours – definitely had some writing brainwaves myself early in the morning โค
