God of War

This is a submission for Kevin’s No Theme Thursday.

In the realm of the gods and mythic lore,

There stood Ares, the mighty God of War.

One of twelve great Olympians, born of Zeus and Hera,

His bloodlust for battle, aggression, and combat, will be known for eras.

His enemies, they trembled, and in fear they fell,

A warrior ready to fight, sending them all to hell.

Through his wrath, his might, and his savage power,

Ares forged ahead, a rageful conqueror of all who cower.

His enemies all vanquished, in a moment oh so glorious,

Zeus’ heavens shook violently, as Ares emerged victorious.

Breaking through his chains, and now overcoming all,

In the ultimate final battle, the Warrior God stood tall.

What can I say, I’ve been channeling lots of Aries/Mars energy this week, either through writing, exercise, or music. Ares was not the most liked of all the gods, as his savagery is often seen as detrimental. Also, the God of War video game series is one of my favorites, (although that franchise is mostly about Kratos, not Ares himself). I’m a sucker for Greek mythology, after all. However, Aries season has now ended, and Mercury Retrograde is finally coming to a close, on the cusp of a powerful full moon! 🌕 Let’s take a deep breath 🙂 and allow the intense energy to dissipate a bit (full moon energy lasts about 3 days, though…so be prepared for that).

  8. Any chance all my stuff will start working again now that the Mercury Retrograde thingy is over? TV, internet, refrigerator, phone, beer cooler at work (not good when you work at a brewery), it’s all been on the fritz. We’re leaving for Hawaii on the second. I’m hoping there’s no mixup there.

    • Oh I feel you there. My washer took a dump, my tire exploded! Sorry to hear what you’re going through, but the energy for the last few weeks is perfect for this. Once mercury retrograde ends (today, April 25th) there are approximately 2 weeks of a post-shadow period which has this energy but to a lesser intensity. I feel you, it’s been a long one! On that note, I have taken quite a few very nice vacations during the tail end of retrogrades and they have been amazing. Think of it as, “relax, rejuvenate” type energy. Check all your travel plans and documents NOW, and don’t be surprised if there are a few delays. I wish you the best and enjoy your trip! Hawaii sounds like an absolute dream! 😊
