What’s something most people don’t understand?

I have to laugh sometimes.
WordPress is either too specific or too broad.
This can be answered in so many ways.
Purpose would’ve been a good answer for this prompt, simply because I feel a lot of people come into the world and leave it never understanding what their true intentions are, or what they need or want to fulfill in life.
Understanding what their meaning of life is.
Perhaps in their next life, they get another try.
Sometimes a lot of what we don’t understand is simply due to our own perception.
For example: I’m a 35 year old woman.
Some people will say, “that’s so young.”
Others will say, “that’s so old.”
It is both. It is neither. It is what you think it is. It is what you make of it.
Or not.
I could be a real moron of a 35 year old, or I could have the wisdom of someone beyond their years.
That goes for any and all of us, regardless of age.
But perhaps that’s not an idea everyone can resonate with.
Let’s take another example:
I intensely dislike Trigonometry, simply because I don’t understand it.
John Doe however, loves it – because he is mathematically inclined.
Doesn’t make it right or wrong.
No one is better than anyone else, no one is above the other.
Side note: I’ve never taken trigonometry, and I pray I never have to. I’m already dreading statistics. 😂
I can do 10 great things, and 1 not-so great thing, and be remembered only for the 1 bad thing.
No CEO, no rich asshole politician, no title or position is above me. At the end of the day, we all are the same.
“Sir,” or “ma’am” only because it is polite, and comes from being raised in a largely Southern influenced household.
Not because anyone is better, richer, smarter, prettier, or more inclined to abuse their falsified sense of power.
There are some special snowflakes in this world who will speak with airs of self-righteous indignation, who believe they are above all or deserve to be treated differently.
Nope.
I see people day in, day out who are broken, confused, battered, homeless, addicted, struggling, ill, traumatized- unable to move forward or to understand what it is they need to change in life.
Stuck in the cycles, over and over again with not knowing how to climb out of the hole.
Sometimes it is their fault, and sometimes it is not.
Stagnation is to give up, defeat.
Moving forward is the only way.
Also, your way of doing things, may not be someone else’s way of doing things.
Mind your manners, mind your opinions. Not everyone will agree with you, not everyone will like you.
And that’s ok.
I find that most people who scream about “be kind” are sometimes anything but.
Some people can’t see the forest for the trees.
Another thing a lot of people struggle with or have trouble understanding sometimes I feel is letting go of things that no longer serve you.
This includes myself.
But we’ll talk about that another time, for this post is already too long.
Happy Wednesday to you all!

“I find that most people who scream about “be kind” are sometimes anything but.”
In most thing, I have found that he or she who talks the loudest about kindness, positivity, drama, gossip, etc. are usually the worst offenders.
“All he does is go around and talk shit about everyone behind their backs all day long. It’s fucking sickening. Hey! Did you hear Suzie and Jeff from Sales have been screwing for the past couple months?” 😄

That’s a very, very good example you’ve got there.
It’s especially hurtful as well if you trust someone enough to tell them something in confidence and they tell other people about it. That reeeeeaalllly sucks.

I’ve been the victim of that more than once and it;s definitely not fun, to say the least.

Irony I use to live in the northwest and nirvana were big etc.. anyways you summed it strongly the human politics and how the flip of the human coin is seen through different eyes and judgements await. I always say money aside nothing separates us and to quote another catch phrase popular back in the day” mo money mo problems.
Alot of folks are creatures of habit and reaction is the only thing until you strip it down to the core. The real conversation let’s explore. Prayers and thoughts are with you 🙏

Thank you as always for your most thoughtful comments! I agree with the sentiment at times mo money mo problems, most definitely it can seem that way and I’ve used the quote a few times to describe things. That’s very true, some people are creatures of habit and do the same things over and over while expecting a different result. Appreciate your thoughts as always 🙏

Always catch 22. Always reflecting on what’s moving us for others or what the world wants. Everyone wants a piece of us however we aren’t entitled for our own that’s the contradiction in it all. Peace and thoughts ✨️

Definitely not too long! Deep-rooted and high-minded at once. Also I want to blow up this photo and hang it on the wall behind my desk.
Agree about the WP prompts. I usually write before reading, but today I need more time (and thankfully have it).

One thing that keeps happening to me is that I hit reply, but the comment shows up on its own outside of the reply. Grr.

I’ve felt this a lot.
I meet a lot of people who say “it’s ok to be different” and “follow your heart,” but when that heart is not me becoming a noncomformist artist, but my path of joining a church, I get pushed aside or watch them call that one way of being inhuman.
I’ve been inclined to work on my impulses of anger at those I clash with so I can truly meet the ideal of “listen to all voices, let everyone follow their own path.”
Running a forum for open debate now, it’s a challenge, but I’m glad I got to take it on.

Thank you so much, I’m glad it resonated with you. Thought-provoking response you provided as well. That’s why I put the Nirvana song, “Come as You Are” as the title. You should be who you are, not what someone else wants you to be. The lyrics are contradictory as well, as people often are. It is what you make it. It’s hard to do the work, but can be worth it in the end.
