Surprise, surprise

What tattoo do you want and where would you put it?

I donโ€™t have any tattoos.

Iโ€™m not sure if itโ€™ll stay that way forever, but currently there are no plans for any.

Iโ€™d say itโ€™s quite rare nowadays to find someone without tattoos.

Oddly enough, most people thought Iโ€™d be all tatted up by the time I turned 18.

I guess itโ€™s always nice to surprise some people.

I had a few surprises myself tonight.

I just got off of a 2 hour video call with my most amazing mentor.

What a lovely chat we had.

She is from New York.

โ€œDonโ€™t talk bad about New Yorkers,โ€ she once said to me, teasingly.

โ€œI promiseโ€ฆnot all of us are terrible and only about money,โ€ she continued.

โ€œNo, noโ€ฆnot at all,โ€ I remember replying. โ€œHow can I?! Thereโ€™s a zillion here and I love so many of them.โ€ I told her back, one evening some odd months ago.

She was telling me about the history of a place called Roosevelt Island, which I had heard about briefly before. (The place we most often hear about down here is Willowbrook), but she specifically wanted to talk about a connection to Roosevelt Island.

โ€œThis sounds vaguely familiar to me, I think Iโ€™ve read about this place before,โ€ I said as she was describing it for me.

โ€œI know you work in psychiatricโ€ฆbut girl, this is some real psych stuff,โ€ her eyes widened.

All I can do is nod my head and listen to her.

Some false narratives go even deeper than I expected.

And then, a new false narrative came to light that I wasnโ€™t quite sure of, but I had my suspicions confirmed.

There most certainly is some fuckery afoot.

โ€œI feel like Iโ€™m speaking to you in riddles,โ€ she said.

โ€œAnd often times, you are,โ€ I replied. โ€œBut it makes sense.โ€

Perhaps there are no surprises after all.

And I am blessed beyond measure.

Thank you.

  1. I’ll be honest, I thought you might have at least a couple tattoos. Yet another example that one should not roll based on assumptions. I’ll be over in the corner eating some crow ๐Ÿ˜„

And cryptic conversations are both the best and worst to have at times. lol

    • ๐Ÿ˜‚ ๐Ÿ˜‚ I get this quite often, haha! Thatโ€™s why I was like, SURPRISE! lol
And yes, cryptic conversations are indeed a blessing and a curse at times.
How are things going with the new job stuff?

      • It’s one of those assumptions I think people get pretty comfortable making based on their average experiences lol

Submitted all my stuff and went for the screening today, so it’s been busy, but going good, thanks.
Left the provider today and as I was walking out, some dude was walking in absolutely reeking of weed.
If I was into that stuff, no way in hell I would walk into an occupational health facility for ANY reason stinking the way he did. ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ

      • Hahahaha omg!! People are nuts I swear. ๐Ÿ˜†
In my line of work, I would totally understand if a patient came in reeking of weed.
One of the things I never understand is when people smoke in their car and it just hotboxes everything and anyone. Like that stuff is POTENT. I think they canโ€™t smell it or are immune to the smell anymore.
Glad everything is on track for you, itโ€™s finally the beginningโ€ฆat last! ๐Ÿ˜‚

      • Ah, I see what you did there. ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜„

Yeah, and people do that a lot. Maybe they can’t smell it, but everyone and their brother sure as hell can. ๐Ÿคฃ
They’re either clueless or don’t give a damn. Maybe both.

Funnily enough I was just at the store here and walked out and whoever was walking in stank so hard of weed lol. I was like damn, theyโ€™re everywhere. ๐Ÿคฃ

I think it has to be a little bit of both. Probably donโ€™t care if they have a job or not, honestly

I wish I could be so carefree!

      • They really are everywhere. I can literally be at a street light and can smell it wafting everywhere around. It’s nuts.

Clearly if they’re smoking it up that much, common sense is not a priority ๐Ÿ˜„

      • Haha, I was at a light one time and a cop pulled a big white sketchy looking van over and they had all this smoke billowing out. I was like dang. Oh well. ๐Ÿ˜‚
        Crazy ass people.
So do you have an official start date yet?!

Haha ๐Ÿ˜† yeah, pretty much. Although Iโ€™m sure nowhere near as funny for them – the police, or the driver and passenger bahah

Iโ€™m getting a headache just thinking about it, LOL

Yeah, I doubt there was much comical about that for anyone directly involved. lol

At least youโ€™ll never forget it!
And yeah Iโ€™m sure. I wouldnโ€™t want to be in either position, honestly ๐Ÿ˜…

      • There is a delightful irony to it, no doubt ๐Ÿ˜„

I mean, it’s legal around here, but some of these people just take it way too far. It’s ridiculous.

      • Exactly! Itโ€™s not such a big deal as sayโ€ฆ..all the crap thatโ€™s out there nowadays like fentanyl, bath salts, tranq, all kinds of names and mixtures youโ€™ve never heard before that people are just willingly putting into their body..that shit is scary. But yeah, people can be annoying and over the top in general, lol. ๐Ÿ˜†

Gee…let me mix this vodka, red bull, lighter fluid and crushed up xanax and see what happens. ๐Ÿ™„
