Saturday Musings

Happy Saturday, all!

If I answer the prompt today, it’ll literally be only a few lines, and I honestly wanted to write a longer post.

Ruby Beach, WA

I was in the middle of writing said post and upon reading it back it came off as ultra-bitchy, so I decided to delete, delete, delete.

I got an extended amount of rest this morning (aka, I was able to wake up whenever the hell I wanted because I am free of responsibilities and work this weekend), so that’s always nice for a change.

I’ll be celebrating my Irish heritage tomorrow with some friends and family. My sister’s already got some food cooking that’s going to take all day, so I’m going to start something myself as well after I shake off some of the sleep here.

And although I’m looking forward to letting loose, that also involves going out – which I like to enjoy when I can- I just dislike having to deal with the asinine behavior that some people display, especially when a holiday is over a weekend.

It’s inevitable – at concerts, at festivals, even at some family gatherings.

I’m the type of person who will avoid situations if I feel they will bring me aggravation. If I truly get mad enough to erupt and display my anger however, (doesn’t happen often) everyone and their mama is sorry.

So! Let’s hope we can avoid all that, and just enjoy ourselves 😜

I’m in a pretty good mood.

My package I’ve been waiting for over a week now is finally arriving today, and it contains some materials which will hopefully enhance my dreaming ability. So I’m looking forward to that, and hopefully it will help spark the bout of creativity that I have brewing inside me.

I’ve also got a new phone with an updated camera which I’m super excited about. So it’s time to take some photos and maybe even film some things.

Hope you all are having a pleasant and relaxing weekend!!

      • No, nothing heavy. Tomorrow’s daily prompt and then a quick message for later tomorrow. I might write another Korv chapter tonight if the mood strikes me. We shall see. lol
Yes, we’re going for dinner and to hang out a bit. If I am too full of pizza there will be no writing 😄

      • I had pizza yesterday! 😂 I feel so fat lol…I need to get in the gym, but that reminds me, I always manage to forget to ask…what’s your favorite frozen pizza? If I’m not having complete and total amnesia, I think I remember you being the one who wrote about that previously haha. I need suggestions!
Also, how do you get to see what the daily prompt is for tomorrow?! lol

      • Daily prompt: Hit Ctrl + K to open your dashboard. Once open, scroll down to the daily prompt box right above the bar garphs, hit the arrow on the right of the box and you can see the next 5 – 7 days worth.

I like Rao’s frozen pizzas. They’re a bit pricey, but really good. Digiorno Detroit pizza is good and if you are looking for cheap, you can’t go wrong with Dr. Oetker.

I am a connoisseur to some degree 😄

      • Dang! I’m often on mobile, I gotta get my lazy butt up and go on the laptop now 😂 but thank you for the detailed explanation!
And I don’t think I’ve heard of a few of those brand names before, sheesh! I’ll have to do some research, now you got me on a mission, haha!

      • It’s a laptop. You can take it back to wherever you were parking your lazy butt. 😋😄

If you can’t find those, the Paul Newman ones are pretty good too.

      • Hahaha, look at you, bossing me around! lol jk 😂 I need to get up anyways.
But this won’t work when I’m often on the go writing my posts! 😩 dang daily prompt.
Are there at least any good ones coming up? lol

      • Only because I am trying to maintain a streak as long as I can 😄
I have to figure a way out to make them amusing for me, and hopefully all of you as well lol

      • Me too! I’m on 42 days (I think) now! Woohoo! 🙌
Your posts are always amusing, but I understand. It’s often hard to figure out what people like.
Oddly enough it seems the less effort I put in, the more people are interested; but when I really take my time and write something, it seems less interesting to others. I’m not sure if that’s really the case, but it kinda appears that way. Hah. Go figure 😆

      • No, that’s valid. I find the ones that flow easily and require less effort are usually the most popular. That Gorilla Mart one is still getting multiple hits a day. lol
Honestly, I write what I like, because that’s most important to me. Being true to what I want has to be first. I am just fortunate that others like it too mostly. 😊

      • Very very true, it’s exactly like you said, the easier the flow the more people seem to resonate with it, it’s just I kind write something so off the hip or whatever and be like “ehh people will probably hate that” and then I’m proven completely wrong lol. Like I’ll be half writing and half concentrating on something else, and that’s the post everyone likes haha. Oh well!
A few of mine still get likes too from the past and I’m like “really??? Well thank you!” Haha

      • And it’s always the ones you don;t expect. Fucking Gorilla Mart? Really? 😄
Yeah, if I am relaxed and don’t give a damn, people love it. I guess that’s the key lol

      • The key to life as well, maybe?! Give less fucks?! Hahaha, don’t mind if I do.

But the Gorilla Mart one was hilarious. That prompt was dumb so, it livened it up I think

      • I think it is honestly. Most of the people I know who never land in a pile of shit are the ones who just don’t give a damn.

        Thank you 😊
Apparently others think so too. I think my stupid pizza one from way back got a ton of hits too. Unreal lol

        Liked by 1 person

      • That is very true!! Easy life, must be nice.
I don’t think I remember the pizza one, I have to search for it now lol. Maybe I’m getting sleepy-brained. 😆

        Liked by 1 person

      • I can;t remember the name of it, but I remember it was getting hits for quite awhile lol
They say my dad was like that. My mom used to say even if he did fall in a pile of shit he always came out smelling like a rose 😄

      • I’m not so sure. I’ve known a few and honestly, it’s a mindset I have tried to incorporate a bit of. More on the side of just not feeding into negative energy if I can help it. I think the more you react to it, the more life throws it at you, because it sees you react and thinks that’s what you want,

        Liked by 1 person

      • Well, that part is true for sure. I’ve definitely become less reactive especially as I’ve gotten older. It’s just not worth it to be aggravated by so many things. I bitch about it for a bit, and then let it go. I definitely try to keep my distance from any BS, if I can. It’s just hard when you have a conscience though, because some people truly don’t care at all about others. But that’s a whole other issue haha.

      • Yes, that’s another ball of wax entirely. And I don;t mean it like that, of course. I mean just not caring and feeding into negative stuff. Like you say, bitch about it, get it out and be done with it. Ruminating on it just invites more misery in my opinion.

      • I eat it more times per week than I care to admit.
That said, I’ve gained a bit, and not really upped the workouts. But once I get back to work and am moving for 12 hours, that’ll sort itself out. Plus, I tend to eat lighter when I am working. I can’t do heavy meals and go back to work

        Liked by 1 person

      • Makes sense!
That’s true, you move around and get your steps in so shouldn’t be eating too heavy otherwise you’ll zzzz 😂
I just drink a ton of coffee at work.
Probably shouldn’t do that either haha

      • It also gets up to 90 or 100 degrees on average in the building in the summer, so I’ll be sweating plenty lol
I don’t drink a ton, usually a couple to start the day and then I’m good.

  2. You deserve some happy times! I’m like you, when I blow it’s a serious event. I only do it when necessary now but when I was younger I could have been jailed lol. Enjoy the family holiday… that’s one of the things I miss most. I always thought I was more Irish, but nope 6% with 38 Scottish. How would I not be f’d? Haha

    • Thank you so much! 😊 I feel the same way, only if necessary and then it’s usually beyond my control at that point. And indeed, I’ve had a few crazy moments when I was younger, LOL. And you should still celebrate! Apparently, according to 23andme, I’m 57% Irish, lol…explains a lot ☘️

      • My dad and mom’s relatives were all Scottish, Scott-Irish, English. My dad’s side traces to 680 Scotland. Pretty interesting stuff to learn. That’s why I commented on the Highlander thing on Kevin’s post. That’s where we trace from. It also validated why we are all night owls…DNA trait listed!

      • Ancestry gives 3 free traits and there ut was… the reason we always caravanned overnight driving. Mom worked night nursing and dad drove an 18 wheeler. Then my baby sister trucked the nights too lol. I haven’t been, but my grandbaby got to go in her mom’s tummy to Scotland, Ireland, England ..LOL! Son’s more Irish and Norwegian, hence 6’4 280. I gained 70 lbs with that giant…
