Losing myself

What activities do you lose yourself in?

I can get lost taking photos of the moon ๐ŸŒ•

Way down we go.

To lose ourselves and find our souls.

Here we are again, I feel like weโ€™ve had this conversation before, perhaps in some form or another.

Iโ€™m not really sure if my activities really change or evolve much from what Iโ€™ve written about in the past. Thereโ€™s always so much to do, and so little time.

Iโ€™m actually really good at directions (even with places Iโ€™m unfamiliar with), but I love getting lost.

The older I get, the more cognizant of time I become. I want to spend less time working and more time being free. My time is precious, and it is what I need away from the hassle of daily life, as I am in constant service to other people.

I donโ€™t like to feel exhausted all the time from dealing with other peopleโ€™s needs. Itโ€™s a struggle.

So, losing myself?

Really letting go?

Yeah, Iโ€™ll take it.

So what do I like to lose myself in?

Give me a pool, a beach, or a lake to swim in

Swimming. Diving. Floating. Being weightless. If you ever experience pain, swimming is a great workout that is not hard on joints. You mostly donโ€™t have to hear, see, or smell anyone else. You really can get lost in your own world while swimming. Iโ€™ll definitely get pruney when I have a chance to be in the water. My brain can take a break from the outside world.

After some laps

Whatโ€™s next?

Biking. Peddling, you move quite quickly with the breeze in your face. A very good cardiovascular exercise, even better if youโ€™re outside and itโ€™s not too hot. Accompanied with nice scenery, biking is definitely an excellent option to lose yourself in.

Music. Singing. Dancing. Listening. Playing. Losing yourself in the words and the rhythm. Music to touch our souls, make us cry, laugh, feel all kinds of emotions. Energizing or relaxing, thereโ€™s so many different ways you can get lost with music.

For a reason

Spiritual Development. Yeah, I go on about this a lot. Iโ€™m a dreamer. Itโ€™s important for me to develop as much as I can in this area as Iโ€™ve wanted to for a long time, but itโ€™s hard work. Anyone who has any kind of natural abilities (which I think we are all capable of) will tell you setting boundaries with this is really important, as you can really can go too deep sometimes. There is a lot of bad information out there as well. So when I do find like-minded folks, or good information regarding such, I really enjoy getting lost and finding my soul with this.

Hula hooping. I am really in tune with my body as I sway my hips to the rhythmic motions and my mind goes free. Endorphins, exercise, movement in general is so good for our body, our mind, our spirit.

Breathe

Spending time in nature. I go into this a lot as well. Itโ€™s even better if youโ€™re alone, so you can really soak up and appreciate what the Earth has to offer, but itโ€™s not always safe, especially if youโ€™re doing a strenuous hike, to go alone. Breathing in the fresh air, spending time in green spaces, being near bodies of water. I would spend so much more time outside, if time would only allow.

Massage. Especially if itโ€™s a good one. Need I say more?

Possibly this goes without saying:

Reading/Writing. I hate to bunch them together but you canโ€™t have one without the other I feel, mostly. Iโ€™ve talked about this enough. I get lost in reading. I get lost in writing. When things just flow forth from the depths, itโ€™s such an amazing experience.

And finally:

Sleep. We need sleep to survive. But if you struggle with sleep like I have for most of my life, getting lost in a truly good sleep is so dang healing. โค๏ธโ€๐Ÿฉน I feel like my mind is always aware. I once had someone tell me even if Iโ€™m sleeping, Iโ€™m not really sleeping. I have a busy spirit and an active mind, apparently. She was right.

  2. I can lose myself while in nature. Music, whether listening or dancing to it and watching DVDs. I do a bit of reading. But it’s not a main go to as the others. And if I draw, that can be another to lose myself into.
