Object of my desire

What are three objects you couldn’t live without?

Yes, that’s actually me writing a gratitude list, not some random photo from the internet πŸ˜‚

I could go into a sentimental perspective here and say things like, β€œlove,” or β€œfriends” or β€œfamily”, but I think I’ll just answer the question and stick to actual objects.

Obviously, there are so many β€œthings” we can do just fine without. And as someone who’s started over again many times, you don’t always need so many β€œthings” to survive.

In fact, it’s better to have less β€œthings”, as it’s been proven we derive more happiness from actual experiences instead of material items.

There is a large focus nowadays on minimalism and keeping only items that bring you joy. I’ve seen and read some stories though where the minimalism can get a bit out of hand, just my opinion anyways.

One thing for sure is – it’s great not to have so much clutter, it’s better for your mind.

However, there are objects that could be considered useful, or a necessity, or perhaps they just bring us pleasure in our daily life.

For that, I say:

Books.

As someone who loves to read and also write, this is something I would have a hard time giving up. If I’m going somewhere, or I’m going to have lots of free time, I might want to read something. This could be simply for pleasure or to obtain important knowledge. It doesn’t have to be a physical book either, since we now have the technology to have so many things digitally nowadays.

Glasses.

My eyesight is so poor, there’s no way I’d be able to survive without glasses. I’m talking like, legally blind. My eyesight has always been bad. I can’t see near, and I can’t see far. I’m not sure how I was blessed with such terrible eyesight, but here we are. A hinderance, in some cases. I have thought of getting LASIK, yes. Maybe one day.

And finally:

A toothbrush.

Man, I can’t tell you the amount of times during the week I come across people with funky ass breath. My teeth aren’t perfect, but people, please – before you go somewhere, brush your teeth. Anyways, yeah, can’t live without this. I would just feel grimey. I’m sure there are other means you can clean your teeth by, but I would prefer to have this one.

I guess this ain’t too exciting of a list! Lol.

Either way, it does make me grateful for so much in my life.

Have a peaceful Sunday, all!

    • Absolutely does make you appreciate, for sure! It took me awhile to think of only 3 things, some things come to mind instantly of course 😊
