Games

Are there any activities or hobbies you’ve outgrown or lost interest in over time?

Hopefully an activity I’ll never outgrow is being outside in nature…

Yes.

As someone who struggles with anxiety and sometimes depression, unfortunately this is true.

I’m getting better though 🙂

When I started nursing school eons ago (ok, it was 10 years ago), I spent so much of my time dedicated to school (and sleeping) that I hardly had time anymore for hobbies and interests.

My creative side really took a hit.

For some reason, it really dulled my love for…well, anything…really.

When I graduated, I told myself I would get back into the things I loved doing.

It’s taken me 10 years.

The healthcare field is a soul-suck, and anyone who’s in it, knows it.

Always short-staffed, always overworked.

Energy and life source drain.

Business people and CEOs hoping to make the biggest profits they can off of the patients (no, they don’t care about you, sorry).

Anyways! I digress.

So…the main question was are there any hobbies that I’ve outgrown or lost interest in over time…

Unfortunately, I’m probably going to have to say gaming.

Not that I’ve outgrown it, or lost total interest in it. I do still love gaming.

I’m not sure if it’s getting older, or what, but I can’t find games that I really LOVEEEE to play anymore. I used to get so sucked into the world of games and could spend hours there.

Now, not so much. I kinda miss it. I love stories that I can get lost in.

It’s also the time it takes sometimes to get locked into a really good game.

I might have something more pressing or another thing that I need or want to do first, before starting a game. Something like planning a vacation, or writing, or even just going outside for exercise.

But I do miss gaming sometimes and would be happy to fall in love with it again. If anyone knows any great ones, please recommend!

  1. Of the newer stuff, I have been playing Starfield. It’s basically Fallout in space, which I love lol
Other than that, I keep falling back on my old standbys – Fallout 3, 4 and New Vegas, Skyrim, Mass Effect series and Saints Row when I’m feeling really goofy 😄
Outer Worlds was pretty good too, and I am thinking about busting out Destiny 2 again and giving that a run.

And I am absolutely shocked that hospital CEOs don’t care. Shocked, I say.
If anyone truly believe that, I have a bridge I’d love to sell them lol
