Kymber’s Get to Know You #40

Hey all! Happy Thursday. 😀

Waiting for it to be full…🌀

The well for creativity has been a bit dry the last few days due to working, and of course, not inspired by the daily prompt at all. 😆

I still have a photos post to edit, so hopefully that’ll be back up later! Fingers crossed.🤞

For now, I’m answering Kymber’s “Get to Know You” questions. Yay, thank you Kymber. 😊

Without further ado, let’s get it goin’!

1. Calling or texting?

“It depends…” for multiple reasons and people 😆

For ease of communication, texting is usually my go-to. However, there are times when a call is more appropriate, if a long conversation needs to happen, or questions and tone of voice is important. I will say, there are some special people whose voice I enjoy hearing more often than not. 😉

2. Fancy dinner or takeout and a movie?

Why Batman gotta steal my food, though? Also…not sure what’s going on in black cat land but 🤷‍♀️🐈‍⬛

Fancy dinner maybe once a year, or sometimes not even. Give me takeout and a movie. Or even a home-cooked meal and a movie. BBQ at home on the grill with a soak in the hot tub and a movie? Also, it’s been a minute since I’ve seen a movie. 😂

I don’t despise eating out at all, but not only can it be expensive – sometimes home cooked food just tastes better. Plus if I go out, I have to deal with people.

And people after working long hours is a “no-go.” I swear I’m not a total recluse, just introverted (sometimes!) 😆

3. Acknowledgement or anonymity?

They may be drafts, but they’re my drafts lol 😆

It depends. For your artwork or writing, you don’t want anyone else to take that from you. If it came from you, it belongs to you. I still write under a name that isn’t my “legal name,” per se. (It’s my name, just not my surname) Have I confused you, yet?

I do think it’s important and nice to do things for others and not need to humblebrag or recognition for kindness. That gets old, super quick.

As soon as you feel the need to tell someone about your good deed, it no longer becomes such.

Maybe we’re getting there…creativity is still kinda obscured 😂

What about you? Would be curious to know your thoughts on each!

And thank you as always to Kymber for her enlightening questions and fun answers! Your kindness is always so highly appreciated! 😊

©️ Laura Bennett – I almost forgot. All answers are my own, along with images. Not to be ripped off or taken in any context without my permission, knowledge, consent. Thanks for not stealing! 🙄

Hope everyone is having a great Thursday! I’ve spent a bit of time in hibernation but I’m hoping to get out and enjoy the few days off I have. ☕️ Enjoy life, that’s what it’s here for. 😊

  1. Oh! That Batman, what a joker. Or not. Nevermind.

    1) Texting first. Introverted me.
    2) Takeout & Stream. Introverted me.
    3) Anonymity. You guessed it: Introverted me.

Are you two conjoined at the leg? It kinda looks like you share a leg. Or the cat in the door stole on, maybe.

  2. Awesome, Laura. I’m with you—text, please. I think I’m the kind of “let’s go out, eat, and see a movie” guy, but definitely not fancy restaurants unless it’s my wedding anniversary. Texas Roadhouse has better steaks than Ruth’s Chris Steak House, IMHO. And for the last one, anonymity as much as possible.

    • True!! 😂 Thanks Edward. I agree, I’ve often been disappointed in “fancy” restaurants more often than not, give me Texas Roadhouse too! Just can’t forget the after dinner coffee ☕️ haha. 🤣 I agree, introverted – anonymous, behind the scenes. “Thank you, but not too much” lol 😆

  3. 1 – Texting, but like you love hearing the voice of someone I care about
2 – Take out, there aren’t too many good restaurants around here really
3 – A little of both! At the end of the day I’m just some guy on the internet

I’m liking the creativity well imagery this time around. You’re doing your part to keep the inspiration going. Hope you had a great Thurs as well!

    • Nice to know I’m not the only one who loves to hear a voice of someone I’m fond of! 😊 take out isn’t bad, that sucks though they’re aren’t good places to eat nearby! That can be rough.
And true! I get the little of both. I think for important things like our writing or images we don’t want to be forgotten or worse, have it just taken from us.

Glad you liked the image 😊 it was fun to make. I hope I can feel more inspired and bring more of that forth soon haha 😆 Happy Friday!

      • If that makes you feel any better. In theory, I “can” draw. I’ve taken classes as a child, I had dabbled in drawing as past time. HOWEVER, this could take forever.

I use AI to generate images in my blogpost. Not a SINGLE drawing of that is mine (minus the photos of course). I’m grateful that I can express my thought/emotion/idea that can resonate with the reader without requiring me to spend hours and days on each image to do my hand.

And I am not one of those who can draw an image within five minutes or so.

Long story short. Your AI generated images are amazing and very authentic.

      • Aww thank you 🙏 I’m so glad you told me this and yes it does make me feel better 😊 you are super kind and it is highly appreciated! There’s so many talented artists here – AI and others.
It really does mean a lot to me, you know. Very grateful. I took some drawing classes too loooongggg time ago 😆 but I’ve seen some talent that is just mind blowing! 🤯 I’m sure I could learn but it would be another thing that might take longer than I am able to give lol 🤣
        Appreciated, again 🙏

  4. 1. Texting. Conversations turn into word salad. And phone conversations are as pleasant for me as rope burn. 📿
    2. Out to Dinner. A Break from the daily grind is a treat. 🍱
    3. Acknowledgement, from a distance, indirectly. It is ok if someone else takes the credit, just hearing it voiced still thrills me.

Your answers were surprising, I definitely don’t feel I have you pegged yet.

    • Why surprising? Interesting!
And the way you describe conversations 😆
I agree that out to dinner can be a break from the grind as well. I think it depends sometimes on how people’d out I am haha 🤣
Interesting 🤔 thoughts on acknowledgment haha. 😆

      • Surprising? I guess most was not all that surprising… but ‘if a long conversation needs to happen, or questions and tone of voice is important. I will say, there are some special people whose voice I enjoy hearing more often than not’ – I did not have you pegged as a long conversation person. Or, perhaps I was projecting myself on that because long conversation are weary to me. But here I am, having a conversation on conversations, so perhaps I am completely all wet. Text though…. 💬 This was a fun conversational topic all around, Thanks for hosting! 😘

  5. That black cat made me laugh so hard!

    1. Texting. The suddenness of a random phone call freaks me out, plus I hate having to immediately drop everything to answer it. Texting feels less like an immediate demand, and I can wrap up what I’m doing in the moment before reading it. Plus, texting usually doesn’t come with a side of small talk. But there are times when a phone call is more efficient or more personal.

    2. Either is fine with me. I enjoy going out, but I’m not a fan of the price. It can be really good for my mental health to get out of my own house and do something different for a change. I also really enjoy movies, and home cooked food is often just as good (and cheaper!).

    3. I suppose acknowledgement? I definitely want my work to recognized as mine, and positive feedback or comments are really motivating to keep me writing. I’m not interested in fame though.

    • I get what you mean about phone calls. If I’m expecting it or I want to talk to the person, it can be nice for a change. Oh yeah, and I agree if you’re doing something else it can take away from that.
The price of going out is definitely less than desirable! 😩 I do think it’s great to get out when we can, I usually try to do that in nature especially if I’m “people’d out” for the day, usually due to work 😆 home cooked food definitely can be so good!

I get what you mean about acknowledgment. I think it depends on the situation again. You want to be recognized for your writing or photos. That’s important. I agree with you there 😊

      • If there are no limitations then there is no catalyst for innovation. A good example is to compare Godzilla vs Kong and Godzilla Minus One. There is a limitation of budget for Godzilla Minus One while the one from Hollywood has all the tools and budget at its disposal. More effort was put into Minus One starting from the plot all the way to post production because they had a tight budget. When there are limitations we are forced to try something differently making us create a new process or method. If there were no conditions our wheels would have been square.

      • Makes sense of course. Thank you for sharing that. Yes, oftentimes we have to try a new process or something different to better suit our needs. It goes up and down, it is never just one way forward.

    • Thank you so much, my friend 😊 I appreciate your kind words. I think it does mean a lot when we find joy in simple and everyday things. Very true about gratitude as well 🙏

  6. These are interesting questions.

I have a strong belief in ‘the left hand should not know what the right hand is doing’.

These pictures are lovely. I love black cats. What about dogs?

Weekend ahead. I hope you have a good rest.

    • Thank you!! 🙏 I love dogs too yes. It’s just I’m the “catwoman” lolol 😆 and I agree, the “left hand shouldn’t know what the right hand does” i actually read that recently and it’s so true 🙏

  7. I prefer texting to calling too except for a select few people. I don’t feel like going out alone most days so unless I’ve got company, homecooked food it is! And yes, dealing with people after work can be SOOO exhausting!
Why Batman gotta steal your food indeed 🤣
I’m with you on No 3.
    Loved all your images, Laura.

    • Haha thank you Shweta. 😊 home cooked food really is so good sometimes. Select few is definitely the key here in the “it depends” department LOL 😆 glad you liked the images ❤️ much appreciated 😊 🙏 🤗

      • Ohh yes. On the days when I don’t screw it up, home cooked food can be so good indeed. 😆
Select few is definitely the key. You’re most welcome, Laura ❤️ 🤗
