Santa Muerte Smile

Thank you, Kevin ❤️

Santa Muerte smiles…

Death whispers: “Hope.”

©️ Laura Bennett

Today is Día de los Muertos, and I wanted to do a tribute to honor Santa Muerte, the personification of Death. Santa Muerte is a Catholic folk saint of Mexican origin who has been denounced by the church many times, unfortunately.

She has said to favor and offer protection to those who walk “close to Death.”

This is my first ever attempt at a Six Word (6WSP) Story – “Hope.” Thanks to Shweta for the prompt.

My apologies if I am behind on posts and comments. I will be at the celebration tonight in Fort Lauderdale. As always, I appreciate your understanding 😊 🙏

  1. Santa Muerte got that mischievous glint, huh? 😏🖤 Just when you think she’s all grim, she drops a bit of hope in your ear like it’s no big deal. 🕯️💀✨

  2. Oh, it’s a beautiful tribute. I didn’t know the story of Santa Muerte of Mexico. It’s very sad how orthodox religions in the past condemned many women who practiced healing, were clairvoyants, and were called witches. I thank you for sharing this story with us. I wish you a great start to the week. 🤗🙌🏻🧚🏻‍♀️✨

    • Thank you so much! I’m glad you liked it! 🙏 sorry, just back around to this comment ☹️ that’s so true, and you bring up a good point about the condemnation of people who were just outside the scope of “normal” but still healers who were persecuted. Very sad history. Appreciate your kind words as always! 🤗 ✨ 🌙 🌹 🐈‍⬛

  3. This is so wonderful, and if I’ve posted twice, I’m sorry! I remember reading and yet don’t see that I commented. As you know I’ve been um, let’s call it foggy! 😀
