Clarity, Born From Chaos

Hey everyone. Hope you are all well.

Happy Sunday!

Sorry, I kinda disappeared. 😆 I needed a break.

From life.

Showing up to remote work be like…

Honestly, I’ve never been an 8:00-4:30, Monday thru Friday type of person. Give me a chaotic 3 twelves and I’m good to go.

But it does wreak havoc on the body over time.

So, I’ve spent the last few weeks getting adjusted to the new job(s). It’s going well, there were some things that needed to be ironed out, but overall, I think we’re good, for now. 😜

It feels stifling in a way

Is it the last stop for me – ever?

Probably not. But then again, I’ve resolved that I’m going to hold onto it – for the present moment, as I’m happy enough working remotely and from home.

Rolling out of bed and working in my pajamas? Can’t be beat. I feel very lucky.

There’s some things I have to get used to, though.

I’m used to getting up and moving around, and there’s been a lot of sitting. I’m sure that’s not something many people would have a gripe with, but it’s different for me.

It takes coffee…lots and lots of coffee ☕️

So, I’ve resolved I have to kinda overhaul a lot. My work space, my boundaries now with work being in my home, separation from that, and also working part time with patients in recovery (my second job) which is something that remains a cause close to my heart.

Changing my sleep schedule and routine. Again. 😵‍💫

Needless to say, sometimes writing takes a backseat, it’s either feast or famine.

So, as I adjust – I try to remove pressure as I see fit.

Sometimes for my sanity as well. 😆

To blog? Or not to blog? Maybe I need a hair brush, first!

That can mean some days without blogging.

Adjusting to a sleep schedule that works for me is never easy, either, as it seems to change so often.

Anyways – this is long enough! Hope you’ve all been well, and that your Sunday is pleasant and peaceful, as well as productive (if you so choose).

I’ve got some writing to catch up on. 😆

Need some time to catch up with you all! Thank you for your understanding of my chaotic life and thoughts – you are always appreciated 🙏

  1. I completely understand. That’s a big change and it’ll take time. I often wonder at the wisdom of my getting into a white collar job and all that sitting that comes with it, even twenty years in. I miss the more active work, but the pay… Yeah, these golden handcuffs…

Have a great morning recovering. 🙂

    • Thank you so much!! 😊 Ahhh, yes. I wouldn’t call nursing “white collar” by any means, but this definitely feels different. That’s why I had to keep the side job to at least have a bit of action lol 😆 and you’ve had quite a few different jobs, haven’t you? That’s always a great thing to have experience with.
Thank you 😊 hope your Sunday is great and looking forward to catching up to what you’ve been writing ✍️

  2. I send you my love and prayers, friend! Being a creator and a blogger is no easy picnic, believe me I know. Sometimes, we gotta take a step back from the computers and phones to get real and decompress. Even Dan Brown and Nora Roberts needed to let loose! Anyway, I hope you are doing well!

  3. I just saw your post. Welcome back to the world of milk and honey 😎

I wish this were true, more like the world of glitches and Groundhog Day prompts 😁

Take care and we all support you 👍

  4. I so get this. When our university announced a second spring break, we knew we were going on lockdown for the rest of the semester. We immediately started to make changes to the house. The home now needed to enable teaching zoom classes, attending online classes, work that needs quiet, meetings that need discussions, and the natural flow of the household that involved noises (cleaning, cooking, etc.) and adjustments. We all got a quiet corner, a work desk, and made sure we did not stock up too many drinks and food on our desks so we were all forced to walk to the kitchen and back. It created a work and walk flow. We still sat a lot so we made small gym downstairs to work out some kinks from sitting. I hope the job goes well for you.

  5. Nursing offers lots of job options, so this might be the perfect way to work for now, but not later. So then you can move on to something else. Everything in balance, right? I blog three times a week typically with an article-type post on Monday, a poem on Wednesday, and a photo on Friday. That works for me. I can’t keep up with posts that are multiple times a day. But that is me. This is my best option for now. May you find your new balance that allows you to do all you want in your own way. Whatever you decide, I know it will be perfect. Love to you, dear Laura.

    • You’re so right, Mary 😊 that’s too true, everything has to be balanced out at times. I thought of making a schedule for days of the week to blog but then I feel like maybe it’s restrictive for me, unsure. I get it! I can’t keep up with too many posts either, I try to leave mine to a minimum sometimes as well. And thank you so much Mary 😊 love to you as well ❤️ so appreciated always 🙏

  7. Hello Laura. I had this post open in a separate window of my phone to read and reply when I first seen it air, but just getting round to responding after watching a DVD and then doing some Tai Chi.

I hope that break helped. Sometimes we just have to randomly switch off. I hope you get used to your schedule. But yes, the sitting down when you are used to moving, I totally get.

I hope you have a good remainder of the day. My day is ending for me. So I am off to bed once I post this. 😴

    • Have a good rest, Liz! 🙏 and thank you, how are you liking the Tai Chi? 😊
The break does help, to kind of get things ironed out where they need to be for work. And you’re right, sometimes we have to cut loose for our sanity 😊
Sitting down is definitely different for me. Something I’m not used to 😆 I hope you have a great night 🌙 ✨

  8. When balance is off, it can throw everything out of sync. Sometimes, taking a break is exactly what’s needed to rebalance things and regain clarity. It’s all about finding what works best for you. 😎

      • You’re welcome, Laura! It’s definitely tough when things feel off balance, but you’ll get back there—I’m sure of it. Sometimes, just recognizing it is the first step to finding that balance again. Wishing you all the best as you move forward, and I hope you have a great night! 🙏😎

      • Thank you so much, John 🙏 I hope you have a great night as well. And I wish you all the best, too 😊 you’re right – sometimes we just need to recognize when something’s off in order to take the step to figure it out and change it

  9. You’re quick about doing what you need to do–impressive! Deliberately sectioning off work from rest/home is especially important when remote. Having that designated space will send your body cues you eventually can depend on, but there’s the adjustment period and I’m so glad you’re taking it seriously!

  10. Heyaa, welcome back! Laura 🤗💖
Sometimes a break is just what we need to get things sorted.😊

  11. I’m glad that you were able to quickly recognize your need for a break, and that you decisively took it. This is coming from a sporadic poster who recognizes that she could not consistently post daily, but do continue to take breaks as needed.

I work as a private tutor, and a lot of my clients are neurodivergent kids, some of whom find transitions (like the switch back to being in school) pretty rough. It’s very okay to need some time to adjust to new schedules.

Hope the new jobs continue to the correct fits for a good while!

    • Ahhh makes sense! Thanks for sharing that! Yeah, I often feel like sometimes I have a lot I want to write and then posting and keeping up at times can become so much, especially when you have a life outside WordPress! lol 😂 thanks you again, so appreciated 🙏

  12. I love those posts where you introduce your readership to your present moon phase, inclement weather, gentle breezes in the coastal palms, the sights and sounds of the seasons. Here in the desert I roast in the everblasting sun, I can’t remember the last time my testosterone fibers rocked to the glorious pounding roar of thunder, or smelled the musky sensual rain in the pines, or even heard seagulls calling over the wind. It has been one of those summers. My point is, that when you write, those of us whom are solitarily sensory deprived, forsaken in the wilderness, can therefor flood our neglected senses with your rejuvenating words. Therefore, by all means; rest, relax, reset, refresh – and then…. return. 🕊️
