Priests can be predators.

Politicians can be liars. 

Beloved celebrities can be criminals.

Never judge a book solely by its cover.

And even then, be careful of what people say. 

Whatever is brought before you may present itself as good, holy, righteous, and be anything but.

The longer I live, the more I realize people like to be lied to.

Even with the truth staring them blindingly in the eyes.

Everyone has a past part (parts, even) of their life that they are ashamed of.

I’ve spent a good portion of my life surrounded by darkness. Some of my own choice, others not.

In fact, I love the darkness.

However, you cannot wallow too long in the dark. 

There must be balance.

Learn how to wield both energies properly. There is a time and place for both. 

Integrating the shadow.

You can live a thousand lifetimes over, but be destined to repeat the same mistakes again in this life.

It is only until we see the mask fall that the facade has been exposed.

Smoke and mirrors.

Pay attention to everything.
