Set Your Goals

Daily writing prompt
How do you plan your goals?

I don’t, really.

Well, I guess that’s a lie.

I wanted to try something different, OK? πŸ˜† β˜•οΈ

Maybe. Probably.

If I decide I want something, or I decide to achieve something, I just set out to do it.

In some ways, it’s probably not as simple as it seems.

I suppose you could say I look at my β€œsphere of availability” which I honestly think people need to be more cognizant of.

It’s easier to accomplish goals set within your sphere

I may live in Neverland sometimes, but I’m not completely out of touch with reality.

So, what do I mean?

For example: I want to be a brain surgeon.

Could it happen?

Ehhh…

I have a background in healthcare, I know anatomy and physiology, have a great understanding of pharmacology, (I won’t say I like to cut things, cause that could be creepy). πŸ”ͺ πŸ˜†

If it were actually me, I’d look way more haggard than this

But the years, time, and energy as well as mindset it would take for me to accomplish brain surgeon status?

Let’s not even count the money involved.

Nope.

It’s a no for me.

Some people wake up with crazy ideas and say they’re destined for β€œthis or that,” which is fine. Perhaps it does happen.

But I think we need to keep our expectations of such based in reality.

Writing it down, keeping expectations based in reality

I’m big on manifesting. Writing out what you want, your intention, putting energy towards making it happen, keeping positive and detaching from the outcome.

When you waver back and forth, or have raw and chaotic energy in both directions, it doesn’t always come out in the ways we’d like or expect.

A tug of war of energies doesn’t allow things to manifest properly -stable, positive energy is key

Also, some things are meant to be, and some things aren’t.

I’ve had a lot of jobs fall into my lap.

I’ve met a lot of amazing people unexpectedly.

I’ve taken up a lot of interesting endeavors and hobbies with no prior experience or knowledge and greatly enjoyed them after putting in time and effort.

All unplanned.

So, do we really need a plan?

Hmmm….

Yes. And no.

Sorry, Libra is Libra-ing today (in indecisive fashion).

Whatever, that’s my answer. Take it or leave it.😜

Thirsty Thursday is among us! 🍹

  1. This post illustrates why you’re one of the only people I can talk to about manifesting. All the components and strategies are needed, in turn and in balance. πŸ™‚

    • Awww thank you! 😊 that means so much coming from you! Yes, there’s a ton of different aspects, but also keeping the balance and I think not making it so difficult and rigid helps too. Have you ever put a thought out there, just half-hazardly, let it go, and it came to be?

      • I’ve sometimes felt as though something comes up to be wished for, rather than the other way around, as though the thing just wants a voice or acknowledgement. Those wishes do seem to show up, often with a twist rather than the way I envisioned.

Btw, I’ve been thinking of making a sigil. I’ve never done that before, but the idea keeps coming up so may as well play with it. πŸ™‚

      • Oh, yes, I’ve had that too. Where it just pops in. I’ve had that happen with negative stuff too, and then I say noooo go away!! But then it comes to pass. Ugh 😫 yes, it’s almost always in ways you didn’t plan.

Oh nice! Sigil for personal power? Success? Abundance? (If you don’t mind me asking of course) i always say if the idea keeps coming to you it must be something you want to explore! I like the ideas of amulets and talismans, they are so cool.

      • Oooh yes, shaking the thought right outta there!

I’m not sure yet, re the Sigil. I’m just drawn to doing it, so I expect once I sit down and try, it will come clearer. Certainly I’ll be doing the most simple version, too. πŸ™‚ Keeping it lighthearted always. ❀

  2. hi Laura! i understand your upgrade at the Healthcare; also the prudence with surgery instruments and circulatory measures. Maybe your hidden wish is ” sporty rehab”. About the “goals”, i dont set them, because i set few systems of improvement, with a curiosity, focus and presence.
Some products still need maturation, I know from experience , of my : clothing brand, books, industrial design, etc. You will know , when deliver it for a better impact. take care.

  3. What I read from your post, which confirms my own life experiences, is that the most amazing things in life happen because they were “unplanned”.

Great post ✨ as always Laura, and you put a great effort in your image creations 😍 Thanks for sharing πŸ™ Have a wonderful day 😊

    • You’re so right! Honestly the best things, people, situations, places, jobs, and circumstances all happened upon me when I was least expecting it. πŸ˜€ and thank you, Chris πŸ™ that means so much especially since you always have such amazing images ✨ 🀩 I hope you have a wonderful day/night as well! 😊

    • So true! Hydration is incredibly important lolol
Real is often a hard one to grasp for some people, but if you live out of the bounds of reality too much, that can bring problems forth at times, too

  4. It’s okay to set goals and do some planning, but we need to stay flexible. Like you said, a lot of great things happen that were unplanned. Besides, there’s a rule in the military that says, β€œno plan survives first contact with the enemy.” Sometimes you’ve got to go with the flow. By the way, I like the β€œsomething new” image, especially that classy cup of coffee. β˜•οΈ

    • Thank you! 😊 and that’s so funny, I actually was thinking of the band β€œSet Your Goals” which is one I used to watch here locally. πŸ™ very much appreciated

    • Definitely not a brain surgeon πŸ˜† that’s far too ambitious and for sure and not in my scope! πŸ˜‚ Yes, as they like to say β€œset it and forget it” and I feel that’s the best practice.

  5. I always dig and admire how you compartmentalise things, give a definition and basis, feed off of it and it’s own home base and yet it feels like you wing it and yet your creativity and vision mentally maps and flesh it out dig ot6

    • Thank you! πŸ™ I agree with you there. In order to achieve, we need to be present and to perfect our balancing act often takes work. Thanks for your insightful comment! 😊

  6. Great post. My personal philosophy is that no one can hit their ultimate target with their eyes closed…except perhaps a very determined streetwalker.

    • 🩷!!! Is this the old soul? (My medium also calls me an old soul!) amazing! What sign are you, Michele? 😊 haha, so glad and thankful for the understanding, Libras go back and forth sometimes but once we’ve settled, it’s hard to change I think lol πŸ˜‚

      • An old soul, absolutely, yes! ✨I had a sense of that before she was born, through feelings and dreams. I am a Gemini. β™ŠοΈ Your last description fits my Libra, too. πŸ˜πŸ‘πŸ»

  7. I really like how you’ve put your thoughts together. I’ve always found setting goals challenging, and it’s something I’m really striving to follow through on. The thing is, when I do set goals, I struggle to believe that they’ll actually happen for me..

    Liked by 2 people

    • Thank you so kindly for your very thoughtful response πŸ™ it’s hard but the mindset of belief has to be there as well, that’s something that has to be worked through, over time, with smaller positive results and then eventually you can believe and build up to the bigger goals πŸ™ best of luck to you 😊

  8. “I love how you balance ambition with a grounded understanding of what’s realistically achievable. It’s easy to get caught up in lofty dreams, but your reminder to keep expectations based in reality is a valuable lesson. Manifesting with intention while staying grounded is a powerful way to navigate life’s goals.”
