This is a submission for Kevinâs No Theme Thursday.

Under the moonâs glowing light
Sinister spells weaved at night
She enchants men, luring them in
Wicked power she revels within
Mere mortals shes taunts and teases
Sheâll use them often as she pleases
Doing her bidding as she sees fit
Beauty ensnaring them out of their wits
Flowers wilting upon their forest bed
Inside foolish menâs lusty heads
Seducing them to execute her will
Captivating many is her deepest thrill
Come the light of morning day
Sending them on their unknowing way
Bringing them back to her every night
Never knowing their unseen plight
Once theyâve served their purpose true
She letâs them know that she is through
Kneeling before her, they beg for mercy
But wicked she is, showing no courtesy
Betrayed many times throughout years
No remorse, she laughs and jeers
Unfairly treated to this very day
She makes men pay without a say
Warnings to all, never play mind games
Women scorned, revenge with no shame
ÂŠď¸ Laura Bennett
It is a shame that often innocent people must pay for the past misdeeds of others.
Be honest, and donât play mind games. It is not worth it, and youâll eventually get yours, along with creating a monster in the process.
This goes for both men and women.
Luckily, I havenât had to deal with such things in a very long time. đ
Thank you for reading!

No furry like a woman scorned.

Absolutely, Mary! A good lesson for both men and women not to play games with each other.

Mind games are something we all can do without as far as I am concerned.
Nice job, Laura. Keep up the good work.

đ yes, definitely a shudder, indeed. I had a darker rendition of this written originally, but decided it was a little too âmuchâ haha and yes, I agree with you there!
And thank you đđ

So very true. I had a different version of this written as well but thought it might be âtoo intenseâ anyways. Maybe Iâll publish that one a different day. Glad you liked it, and thank you for your beautiful image, Kevin đ

Wonderful poem, Laura! For some reason, the picture and poem reminded me of the show Vikings: Valhalla. By the way, season 3 just started; seasons 1 and 2 are definitely better.

You know I never got a chance to watch it? I saw the original Vikings with Ragnar which I LOVED, but havenât had a chance to watch Valhalla. It always seems like earlier seasons are better with these showsâŚbut Iâll still have to give it a watch. Love Vikings!
And glad you liked the poem đ thanks so much!

I love Vikings too and all the Vikings seasons and the first two of Valhalla were good. This season is ok.

Good to know. Will keep that in mind when I watch. When I saw the original, I thought seasons 1-4 were the best. Didnât like the others near as much (pretty much after Ragnarâs demise) thanks again for the recommendation. Why donât you like the 3rd season as much?

It looks off. The scenes are disconnected, the main characters are all over the place, and I don’t like the fight scenes. They look weak.

Ahhh gotcha, thatâs so bizarre. We definitely want a lot of blood in battle! I wonder if they have a different person directing or something and thatâs why itâs âoffâ? So strange, I hate when shows just change it up like that, especially if it was really good prior.

Interesting comment about the director. I need to check on that. That might be the issue.

Very well could be! I often find itâs some strange change like that, that often makes the show âgo downhillâ so-to-speak.

They do say beware a woman scorned

Indeed they do! I think both sexes can be downright brutal though if they so choose and have been betrayed in the past.

Oh this is quite serious poem, I hope I do not have to deal with these kind of things ever. If this was a piece of music the genre could be Power Metal… Peace!

Powerful message Laura, Spot on advice and yes, I haven’t dealt with it for a hot minute and don’t have any plans to do so again, have a caffeine kinda of day!

Thank you Ernie. Sorry you had to deal with thatâŚI agree, you either find someone who doesnât play games like you, or you stay to yourself. Thatâs what most of the good ones do it seems. The others are out there getting married 4, 5, and 6 times lol đľâđŤ

It’s best to let the imagination and day dream play as to actually play it out in real time. Folks gotta know feelings are real and payback is even more real and raw, don’t catch feelings if you aren’t about that life from the get go
