Harmony and Sanity

Daily writing prompt
What could you let go of, for the sake of harmony?

Anything or anyone that disrupts my peace.

Deep breath in, exhale out. Let it go.

Any situation, job, person, or circumstance that brings more toxicity, aggravation, or just throws negative thoughts, pressure, or energy my way.

I often say I’m tired of always being the bigger person.

Letting go of that type of erratic and unstable energy is my way of being the bigger person.

And not just for the sake of harmony.

But for my sanity.

You can have fire, just don’t allow it to torch what’s right in front of you and burn everything to the ground.

It’s just not worth it.

Let it go.

I originally answered this prompt with β€œAny bullshit,” but decided to elaborate more.

You’re welcome, I guess? Maybe…

  1. I can assure you, sometimes it’s not about being the ‘bigger person’ but about being the person with the biggest, most awkward shoes! 🌟 And if things get too hot to handle, just remember: a little bit of clowning around can turn even the fiercest flames into a harmless puff of magic smoke. So let’s juggle those worries away and keep the circus of life rolling with a laugh and a smile! And always remember, someone out there actually manufactures tiny little firetrucks too. πŸš’

    • Welp, considering I like to wear ugly and awkward shoes all the time (crocs) I think I fit into this category pretty nicely! Also, a harmless little puff of magic smoke isn’t going to do me any good if I actually do want a real fire πŸ”₯ lol πŸ˜†

      • Perhaps the healing power is in the mantra itself. β€œBig Shoes…magic puff…fire truck” and repeat. I don’t know why, but it seems to work for me. Repeat until some inner peace sets in. If I mumble it, sometimes my boss thinks I am cursing her under my breath, so annunciation becomes key. πŸ§˜πŸ“Ώ

  2. Hear hear! That’s called priorities. I don’t put up with things that hinder my main ones, so there’s kind of hierarchical system of BS filtering. LOL

  3. that word “aggravation” makes me sad – literally. I know it’s a stretch but just for the sake of communicating my thoughts, it’s sad that there are situations that can run so bad that they become an aggravation. and you’re absolutely right, once it gets to that point you have to let it go and keep an eye on it for your sanity and safety. we have a word for that in my filipino language and once I have to label someone as that, it is over for that person. like God himself could try and smooth things over but I wouldn’t even budge from my position. having peace is the most important thing. it’s just as important as being financially stable because there’s a silent correlation between the two.

hope this Sunday is non-toxic! Mike

    • Thank you Mike! It’s been a bit of chaos this week with work and all, but I’m learning to try and just let it go and do my best. So, as non-toxic as it can be! πŸ˜‚ and you are right, peace should always come first no matter what 😊
