Snooze.
What the heck is this, a job interview?!
Would you like to see my resume, too?
Before I became a nurse, I had a pretty eclectic set of jobs. It always surprises me when people come out of college with zero work experience, but I guess thatβs why customer service and the like is so dang terrible nowadays.

Anyways, without further ado:
My first job was a bagger at Publix when I was 15. I got paid $5.75 an hour. Yep, that was fun… not.
After that I became a server/waitress whatever the correct term isβ¦I did that from 16-17 or so for this small cafe by the beach. It wasnβt horrible. Had a family-like vibe to it.
Then I got a job at the mall as a photographer for one of those companies that do studio portraits. I didnβt last there long, because they wanted to underpay photographers. I was serious about photography at that time.

After that I was a graphic designer for a small company that did adult entertainment. And before you *gasp* at the holier-than-thou perfect images nurses are supposed to hold (I’m also allowed to have a life outside of my career, thank you)...not anything super explicit, it was more like girls wrestling and stuff like that. $13/hr for that crappy job, to edit half-naked photos and build websites, and shoot video on top of it – way freaking underpaid.
Then I became a legal assistant. That was fun. I also worked at a Porsche and Audi dealership for a bit of time. That was also quite fun.

Then I went back to serving/waitressing and picked up bartending. Not bad, paid more money. But was hard on the body/feet. This was at like 23 or so. Canβt imagine what itβd be like now. π

Then I worked as a security officer. Haha, that was actually a job I stayed at for a good little bit. It wasnβt horrible at all. People who often meet me in life tell me Iβd make a great cop. Never know what to say to that, and if maybe itβs an insult. Must be the non-smiling face and the authoritative voice. π Oh, well.
(No images of me dressed as cop, sorry…that’s going a bit too far now, HAH).
I had some stints at some other jobs here and there Iβm sure, customer service-based type of jobs.
And then I became a nurse.

Now, youβre probably thinking – wow! This chick has had a lot of jobs, but remember, I started working at a pretty young age. I didnβt have a typical college (or even high school, really) experience. And I wouldnβt change that, honestly.
I had to grow up fast and become an adult quick, unlike so many people in todayβs world.
So Iβve been a nurse for 10 years now. I talk about it enough on here. The nursing jobs I enjoy the most are either ER nursing or psychiatric.

However, I want to spend as little time at work as possible also, so I can go home and enjoy my free timeβ¦you know, escaping from reality. π
The only other profession I really hope to be successful in at some point in life is writing.

Crapβ¦I almost fell asleep writing my response out to this prompt.
It also wasnβt very insightful, whatever. Now you know a little more (useless?) information about me from my past.
And the daily prompt almost always knows how to irritate me sometimes, I swearβ¦so completely aggravating considering Iβm annoyed as all hell with my job right now.
Thanks for reading!

Quite the resume you have there. Maybe you could whip the WP engineers into shape! π
Hope you didn’t burn any clutches out! lol

Haha, I burnt outβ¦maybe 3-4 times? Lolol, thatβs pretty bad, right?
I would love to just give WordPress even a hint of some things they could do to make the entire experience a whole hell of a lot smoother. We could compile a mile-long list, Iβm sure! π

Burnt out once, enough for me, thanks.

Writing about oneself can be a daunting task. Itβs like trying to capture the essence of a multifaceted diamond in mere words. The challenge lies in balancing honesty with self-promotion, and in revealing enough to be relatable without oversharing. Youβve done an incredible job!
Your self-portrait is a masterpiece, painted with strokes of vulnerability and resilience. Youβve navigated the labyrinth of your own thoughts, memories, and emotions, and emerged with a canvas that reflects your unique journey. Hereβs to the courage it took to put pen to paper, to unravel the threads of your existence, and to weave them into a narrative that resonates.
Remember this: Every word youβve chosen, every memory youβve shared, and every emotion youβve bared is a testament to your authenticity.
So, celebrate your accomplishment! Acknowledge the bravery it took to delve into the depths of your being and emerge with a story worth telling.

Thank you for your extremely detailed comment, that is much appreciated. π
I agree itβs not always easy to write about yourself, if youβre someone who is inclined to care more about other topics than just whatβs going on in your own little world. But I do appreciate you taking the time to recognize the effort I put in. Thanks again π

Great blog post! I have been at my local T.J. Maxx store near Pittsburgh, PA, since June 2007 … and I actually started there as a “volunteer” in September of 2006. I became a “regular worker” in June of 2007.
Before I worked at T.J. Maxx, I worked at Crafton Children’s Corner in Thornburg, which is near Pittsburgh … and I also did volunteer work for Meals on Wheels from 2000 until 2007.

What?! Nurses are allowed to be multi-fasceted humans?! How dare! π
I started working very young as well, which is bound to result in lots of eclectic roles, so I totally get how easy it is to rack up that many–also think it’s great to have done so!

You have built up quite the resume there. I’m so glad, as a fellow nurse (or used to be nurse lol) that you found what you like, and I hope you find the perfect place for you in the near future.π©·πΊ
My first job was the young men’s department at JCPenney for $4.10/hr. I was like is that really the minimum wage? LOLOLOL I was young and bright-eyed. Later, when I was going through nursing school, I followed my other passion, becoming an antique glass dealer. That was sooo fun!

And wow! Antique glass dealer sounds so amazing! Iβm going to have to start doing something on the side too at some point, I believe. Some kind of creative endeavor. Thanks so much for sharing, I loved to hear a little bit more about your life! π
