FREEDOM!

Daily writing prompt
What does freedom mean to you?

Hahaha.

You can thank me for this daily prompt, with all the yammering I do about being free, I clearly manifested this one for us. Enjoy. πŸ˜‰

Hey, at least it’s better than, β€œwhat emojis do you use?” πŸ€ͺ

I’ve posted this picture before – among similar – but there’s no better way to describe the feeling of β€œfree” for me better than this (I just wish I didn’t look like such a hot mess, but hey – what do you expect with a strenuous hike?!)

As mentioned previously, I often go on a lot about feeling free, being free, enjoying my freedom.

I’m sure most of you get it to some extent, but there are some people (even in person) who are like, wtf is she going on about?

Well, here it is.

I hate the feeling of being shackled to time, spaces, situations, circumstances.

As do we all, I’m sure.

I grew up in a not so great environment, woohooo, so have the majority of us

I’ve been plagued by some not-so-great things in my life.

Again – So have we all

I just always hated that sense of impending doom; that feeling of being trapped.

Trapped within a space you were supposed to feel safe.

And happy.

It was my goal to get out. Climb out, fight my way out, whatever the hell it took.

And I did.

It wasn’t easy.

There are situations, people, jobs, circumstances that test my freedom every single day.

Relationships that I stayed in or didn’t let go of due to a sense of guilt, obligation, honor, or whatever it may have been at the time. Letting go is never easy.

I always have to make the conscious choice to stay free.

Free from hurt.

Free from doubt.

Free from constraints.

Free from anxiety and depression.

Free to live my life the way I choose.

Free to embrace all my experiences in life.

Freedom means living how I choose, with the people I want to invite in my life, with the situations and circumstances that are only for my highest good.

I wouldn’t change it for the world.

It is my greatest wish for you that you may have the most peaceful of weekends – your girl is stuck here at work, all weekend long.

*screams internally* πŸ˜‚

  1. It’s such a powerful way you’ve approached this question, contrasting dark times when there were few choices. I certainly relate to choices regarding people.

  2. Amen Laura…I hear you✌️. You have to climb out that ‘bucket of crabs’ as best you can (different for us all I know), love yourself, live free, and stop tying to fit-in (such a disempowering trait). I know I am preaching to the converted here😊. May your current shift pass smoothly! Best…Jay

  3. Laura ❀ … Your pic is beyond !!! In one way it appears that you are asking the mountains to pick you up like a toddler towards their mother and the second view looks like you landed a perfect Olympian style salute !!! Well done ~ Beautiful πŸ˜‰
