Midnight Sun

This is my second submission to Kevin’s No Theme Thursday. The images are just too dang good to write for only one this week!

Image provided by Kevin from The Beginning at Last

The Land of Midnight Sun, a magical and radiant sight,

Aurora paints the heavens, with an ethereal cosmic light.

Brilliant streaks of purple, green, pink, and blue,

Swirling, dancing, flickering, what a mesmerizing view.

Alaska’s vast wilderness sky dances so vividly bright,

With spectacles of glorious color that shine throughout at night.

A horizon with vibrant depths, spellbinding and captivating,

An experience that is eternally hypnotic and fascinating.

The Last Frontier, a land made not for the faint of heart,

An expanse so great, it can only be considered a work of art.

This image reminds me of Alaska. Visiting the Land of the Midnight Sun is an amazing experience, however – I never got a chance to see the Aurora Borealis (or Northern Lights) when I went. It is one of my dreams to experience this phenomenon at some point in my lifetime. Besides…you know, I’m a sky fanatic. There is something quite magical and mystical about visiting a place that is still light at 2AM during certain parts of the year. Thank you for reading!

  2. This is a lovely, an energizing meditation. My daughter’s friend is a pilot and sometimes flies to Alaska. The photos of the Northern Lights she shows me are astounding! I’m not sure there’s room for Alaska on my bucket list, but it would be nice. 🙂
