What are 5 everyday things that bring you happiness?
In an effort to catch up on some prompts, (normally I just let them go if I fall behind) I really wanted to post this one, especially since I was inspired by Stephanie over at Singing Gecko when she did her post.
I love to post things about happiness and gratitude. Itβs important to acknowledge the good things, because often there is so much negativity we are exposed to in our daily lives.
And of course, we all know itβs not the things that bring us true and insightful happiness.
But even with the βobjectsβ aspect aside – there are a few that I enjoy daily:
1. My Coffee

Yep, as mentioned in many of my previous posts, Iβm a caffeine queen. No talkie before coffee, and coffee – because murder is wrong.
2. Bike, hula hoop, yoga mat

How about a 3-for-1? I love biking. I love hula-hooping. I think Iβve mentioned all this before. Yoga is a hell of a workout if you actually know what youβre doing (sometimes I feel like I donβt). π Canβt beat being flexible and the breathing techniques that go along with it. Also, do you see a trend? I love the color purple. The color of psychism, wisdom, power, spirituality…and royalty. π
3. Spiritual tools, Sacred Blue Lotus, Mugwort, dreaming herbs, etc.

I know people are a little hesitant to share their altars online, and believe me, I totally get why. This one is pretty tame though (compared to some others that may be floating around my house, heh) as itβs got all the cleansing, dreaming, healing, divination, protection, etc stuff on it.
Also, I like skull candles. Yes, I do. So there. π€ͺ

This is kinda weird. But this shit helps me dream. It helps me with meditation. It helps me go deep. (As if I needed to be any deeper, lol) You might call me a bit of strange one, with all this trying to shift dimensions and entering altered states of consciousness. Also, Florida Water is great to clear out any funk, and conversely as an ancestral offering. Multiple purposes for that.
4. Ocarina

Iβve been trying to work on my throat chakra a great deal in the past few months. There are multiple and many reasons for this that Iβm not going to delve too deeply into right now- but music in general, what you hear, your voice, singing, playing instruments, etc. are all tied to unblocking and opening up your throat chakra. Iβve always wanted to play an instrument, Iβve dabbled here and there with others over time, some good, some not π the Ocarina is one I really enjoy, however.
5. No Soliciting

Hereβs one Iβm sure most people can resonate with. And although the sign itself doesnβt bring me actual happiness, I purchased it in order to hang it on my front door to hopefully obtain my much-needed peace. Donβt knock on my door. Iβve got all the aforementioned things listed figured out, and wellβ¦if I didnβt, I most certainly wouldnβt be asking you. Thanks, byeeee!
6. Books

Honestly, this should probably just be first. I added it as a bonus cause I donβt think you can enjoy life without reading lol. Most people read a lot of books digitally nowadays, but thereβs just something about curling up with a good book, actually feeling the pages, smelling them (I told you, Iβm a weirdo) and letting your mind get completely lost. Especially on a rainy day.
Thatβs all for now! It did feel a bit self-indulgent, but hopefully you learned something along the way.
And plus- I also need to express my gratitude. π

That’s a pretty interesting list, Laura. A lot of stuff i don’t understand veru well, but very cool!
Yes, I am more than a bit uncouth π

Very nice. I do my best to drink my coffee almost as soon as I wake up on a daily basis.

Touched that you would link to me. π·
Also, what a great post. You opened my day on a strong high note and now are closing the evening with a smile and curiosity sparks. Blue lotus?
You know what… I’m a purple fiend too! I’m laying on purple sheets with a big purple wedge pillow. haha
Good time to tell you I bought mugwort tea a week or so ago and it’s great, nice for dreaming in a similar way than roasted dandelion. Thumbs up! π

Awww of course! Iβve been meaning to for awhile with this post especially, I never got around to posting that day this prompt came out cause it was when I had the situation with the tire π©
Thank you! So glad to hear that π
Blue lotus is something Iβve been using to help with meditation and it also has properties that assist with dreaming too. Gives you a chilled out feeling, i suppose better than when Iβm riddled with anxiety trying to meditate π nice! You got the mugwort tea. I find thatβs super effective for me; how do you like it?
Haha, purple totally rules! Not surprised youβre a purple queen too π π

Interesting, I’ll have to look into blue lotus. Always like to try new things and see what effects they have, within some constraints of course. π
It seems like it was just time for you to take care of some practical things! Speaking of which, hope you found a good dryer. lol

I feel you! I donβt do use anything too crazy, haha, just enough to relax me into a meditative state and see what flows through. And yes, itβll be delivered on Monday! Woohoo! Practical things, they are a pain, but necessary, lol. π

It does feel really good to take care of all the practical things though. I have so many little nightly rituals that just let me feel like everything’s in as much place as it should be.
