Who was your most influential teacher? Why?

I havenโt had the best luck with school teachers. I will give an honorable mention to an instructor I had in nursing school during my Med/Surg rotation. Her name was Ms. Gay and we nicknamed her โMs. Crayโ (if that gives you any indication of what her personality was like). Even though she was a whirlwind and could be downright rude at times, I did learn a lot from her.
So, originally I was going to answer this prompt with โmy intuitionโ – and of course it is one of my best teachers in the same sense that life experience is – you learn to really trust yourself and know whatโs best for you.
But! Along the way, if you are lucky, you do have helpers and guides who assist with such things.
I often (very often) mention mentors that have helped me along the way in finding my spiritual path.
Like my mentor in New York, especially.
I met her in 2021. I sought her help initially regarding a very confusing soul contract that I have.
โYou remind me of myself when I first started out, you have so much anxiety!โ
Umm, thank you?
She always makes me feel empowered and like I can do anything, but the thought that I could ever be anything like her at all is one I still have to wrap my head around.
She has taught me so much, about anxiety, about breath work, dreams, meditation, healing, even about myself.

I still suck at meditation though. ๐
โIt feels like you finding all of your gifts during this time,โ she told me awhile back during what proved to be a trying time.
โI hate to sound clichรฉ, but it feels like the Dark Night of the Soul.โ I do actually remember rolling my eyes a bit when she told me that, hah.
I love her, and she is magnificent. I was just speaking to her the other night:
โThereโs something with the oil in your car. I donโt drive, so itโs hard for me to explain anything with cars.โ
I wanted to ask her how the hell she gets around if she doesnโt drive, and then I remembered she lives in the city. Durr.
โI was just thinking about getting my oil changed, how did you read my damn mind?!โ I asked her, wondering why Iโm still surprised at her ability, this many years now with her.
โYou drive like a race car driver, by the way,โ she quipped. โThereโs something with the car. You shouldnโt have to hit the brakes as hard as you do.โ
โThat doesnโt make sense. I just got the brakes done a few months ago.โ Now Iโm thinking she might be off or picking up something that happened previously.
We talked for so long that by the end of my video call with her, I had forgotten about the oil.
โGet the oil, Iโm telling you,โ she said before she hung up.
โOk, ok, I will. ASAP.โ
I went the next day.
โMaโam, I had to put air in your back left tire. It was at 16, and itโs supposed to be in the 30s,โ the mechanic told me.
Holy crap.
Thank you so much.
I couldโve had a blowout (Iโve had one before on the highway, and it was scary as hell).
What else can I say?
Evidential mediumship.
A blessing, for sure.

A guiding light in it’s true sense ๐

An incredible incredible blessing to find a close mentor–a needle in a haystack even!
>>Even though she was a whirlwind and could be downright rude at times, I did learn a lot from her.<< I loved what you wrote here too, because when we're very young it doesn't seem possible that someone who has hurt our feelings or been mean, could end up being someone who we're thankful for, someone we want to be like. I worked for someone who I would jokingly say "took a sword to me", but I was always the better for it.

I keep trying to reply to you and it’s giving me and error message! aghhhh lol. And yes I agree about that particular person being a good example of someone who may not come off as all sweet and nice, but was a good teacher and helped you really learn what’s important.

Very interesting indeed. On the subject of mentors: They always seem to show up right when you need them the most. Even if you don’t think you do at the time.

Very true! And sometimes you donโt see that theyโll be there for you in that light until the time comes.

Nope. It’s the “all things in their good time” saying in effect. As long as you see them and it’s a hindsight 20/20 case. Then that sucks lol

Hah, yeah thatโs true. Hindsight sucks sometimes lol. Iโm working on a post for No Theme Thursday btw, letโs hope I finish it in time ๐

what makes you feel your best? you see the way you approach a topic or subject, gotta take surroundings elements, tie it into dreams and how you relate, common ground

I feel like I kinda do that already. I write from the heart and soul as much as I can

did you ever go through desperation from a bad break up? are you afraid of a song which reflected a low in your life? are you ever reminded of a past life and encounter?

I see what youโre saying, especially with the song analogy and the past life experience, makes sense
