Describe a phase in life that was difficult to say goodbye to.

This is actually quite difficult for me to pinpoint.
It feels like Iโve merged a lot of my life experiences and phases into one.
Obviously, I am different now at this point in my life and have gone through different phases from my childhood, to being a teenager, to my 20s, and now my 30s. And Iโm sure as the next decades come around, I will be even more different. However, a lot of my whole self encompasses parts of those past experiences now.
I am grateful for the life I have led thus far.
It may have been hard at times, but there are always so many wonderful moments.
I suppose if I had to pick a time, I would say it was when I was more care-free.
I am working on incorporating that characteristic more into my life now.
Letโs be honest: adulting sucks.
I have to pay the mortgage every month. I have insurance and taxes I have to pay for. Bills, bills, bills. So do we all, right?
So I think it was a time when perhaps I wasnโt responsible for so much.
I didnโt have a traditional college experience where I went away to party for 4 years, so thatโs out.
But I supposed I cared a lot less about certain things or consequences in life when I was younger.
The thing is, Iโve always been on the mature side because I had to โgrow up fastโ.
Regardless, being less worried about the future and enjoying the present are things Iโm working on now – mindfulness.
You have to remind yourself that you canโt control everything and you donโt always know where your next path in life is going to lead you.
Iโm looking forward to the next phase in my life, however – as well as this present one.

Great post. “Adulting sucks,” definitely, but it looks like you are on the right path because of what you said about being “less worried about the future and enjoying the present.” Planning for the future is important, but sometimes we worry too much, and we need to enjoy the present a little more.

Absolutely, you are so right. This is the philosophy Iโm trying to live by. Itโs important obviously to attend to our mundane world, working and paying bills you need to survive. But the important part of having genuine life experiences and going inward to enjoy the present moment is what makes life so worth it. Thanks for your comment! ๐
