How do you generally come up with inspiration and ideas for what you would like to write?

I’ve slowly began to brainstorm ideas – so I can hopefully publish a novel one day. That’s my goal, anyways. I’ve started a few short stories over the years, only to be unhappy with how they are turning out and then not finishing them.

Getting outside and getting fresh air definitely helps me clear my head and gives me inspiration for characters I’d like to develop, places I’d like to feature, and even sometimes how I think events should play out.

Also, I find being up at 4AM in solitude is a great way to not only just THINK, but to get a lot of stuff done as the rest of the world sleeps.

So, what do you like to do when it comes to authoring a piece? Do you like to go off your own life and experience, or do you like to do something completely different? Do you like fiction or no? Simplicity or something a bit more complicated?

Do you ever get inspiration from your dreams or a higher source?
What is profound enough to you to make you want to write?

There is a magic to being awake when everyone else hasnβt, isnβt it? I myself find great joy in completing a ton of tasks before anyone in the house has even woken up. In fact, thatβs my source of pride that helps me tackle my other challenges of the day. Anyway, thanks for this post, Laura!

Agree! I always feel so accomplished when I can get up and complete all the things I need to do and it makes me motivated to keep going. Thank you for your comment, have a beautiful day!
